Default ZR1 prices has arrived

I just put a deposit down on my ZR1 earlier today. The guy at the dealer told me they were going to order 6 for this year. 4 has been sold to people not noing the real MRSP. Of course with a $50,000 deposit. So I was told that the MRSP is $117,000. plus $2,000 for chrome rims.

Actually, MSRP with out chrome wheels is $115,000.00 for a fully loaded car. This does not include R8C delivery (which is $490)
You can see actual "dealer invoice" price and MSRP if you go build your car online at www.edmunds.com. So a fully loaded ZR1 which chrome wheels is $117,000.00

I stopped at the local dealer and was told they were ordering 5 of them.
They would require a $50,000 deposit. MSRP would be around $118K and they wouldn't take anything less than $50,000 over MSRP. They were confident they would get $60K over because its a collectable car.
He suggested there would be kind of a bidding war over them. That would make it a $168K-$178K Corvette. It's a beautiful car and I'd love to have one but I think they are slightly over confident in this economy. The $118K might be a stretch. Anyway very disappointing that they would play with the pricing like this.

Default ZR1 Pricing

Please note MSRP including the gas guzzler tax is 105k . The chrome wheels are 2k. But if you order the 3ZR package, that is an additional 10k. Museum delivery, add$490.

Good luck with the collectible ZR1. Hey the ZR1 might end up being as valuable as the original 427 Cobra's. Or the C4 ZR-1. Time wiil tell.

Just like the original ZR1 was supposed to be.

Lets see how collectable it is when the 650hp version comes out and then the 665hp version. Sorry, but history always repeats itself and GM loves to sell to people that have to have the latest and greatest and a 15hp bump will do that for them.

Don't laugh yet. Most "collectibles" don't become collectible until they're at least 30 years old. That means the C4Z has a dozen years to go.

No, I'm in central Texas. My car is #002 of 185. And there were only about 50 imported into the US. Since my car is the limitied edition NERA Gallardo, they all look the same.
