To be honest, I was hoping that the ZR1 is much quicker than what couple of magazine has pubilished to this day. I'd like to see the trap speed in the quarter to be at least 130MPH.

Why can't magazines give the 60ft time? Beacause I'm sure the 60ft time was horrible. This tells a lot when explaining a 1/4 mile pass. It makes me laugh when some of you guys think the Z06 is in the same ball park as the ZR1. The ZR1 is a beast of a car, in a race from a roll with both cars putting all their power to the ground the Z06 would see tail lights in a hurry. Same goes if both cars hooked up the same from a dig. It will be difficult to launch a car like the ZR1 without a good track prep or tire.

There have been a VERY VERY few guys who have maxed out their Z06's and been able to cross 127mph. If you look at the fast list, theres, what, like 4 guys who have gotten above 125mph? And that's from the list of the very fastest Z06's in the country on the best tracks with the most experienced drivers, etc.
But then the Z06 fanbois all flood the internet with their ideas that Z06's somehow regularly run 127mph traps. Guess what - THEY DON'T. Go to your local track and you will see Z06's running 120-123mph all day long. That's a good average of what they run.
To compare the very very best ever times from one car to run-of-the-mill magazine times for another car is just dumb. People who really believe the ZR1 is 'barely' faster than the Z06 or equal to it need a reality check. The ZR1 smokes a Z06 in absolutely every way.
The question is not whether it's "worth it", the question is can YOU afford it. If you can't, the easy answer is to say "It's not worth it, and that's why I won't buy one... I could afford it but I don't wanna". Riiiiiiight.

BTW - This is directly from the article:
The ZR1 hits 60 mph in 3.70 seconds, 100 mph in 7.80 seconds, 150 mph in 16.61 seconds and it blows through the quarter mile in 11.50 seconds at 127.82 mph. Imagine what it would do with a pair of slicks.
For comparison, the last Z06 we tested hit 60 mph in 4.37 seconds and tore through the quarter-mile in 12.00 seconds flat at 120.90 mph.

I drove my bro's Z06 yup it's fast but not as fast as the ZR1. Think about it, 638 hp off the truck plus a 5 year warranty. It's only $150k if you are willing to pay the premium. My brother commented that he can feel the difference right away.

So the record 'Ranger' 1/4 mile times on a perfect track/temp./conditions after thousands of runs don't apply to every Z06 in the country? It's nice to see someone calling out this theory, even if it is Vette against Vette. Bottom line: A ZR1 is going to pull a Z06 in a straight line, no problem.

Anybody who thinks they can pull a 3.7 0-60 in their Z06 is either dreaming (never actually tried it) or they have LOTS of experience on a well prepped track. Period.
