Serial number 0043 here. John Priest built mine. From what I could find out, he is no longer with the Wixom facility. (Retired) I was told. Lots of luck to him. He built one hell of a motor.

No chance that was Mike Priest? (Mike will never retire, as long as the checks keep coming)

MY BAD!!! You are correct. Mike Priest. But for sure, when I tried to reach him by going thru the Wixom facility, They did tell me he had retired. Were they incorrect?

Mike would live in a box in the parking lot if he could get away with it. He misses NO time from work. Very very picky about building an engine. Larry P.S. they will be back from layoff tomorrow. Mike might be there already.

motor
I agree with 1BAD. Although I haven't modded mine yet, I have put quite a few miles on her. Included in the miles is a trip from Fl. to North Carolina and a little side trip to Deals Gap (tail of the dragon). The whole car performed flawlessly, especially the motor. My compliments to the chef. (Mike)

LS9 engine numbers & latest builder summary
Yes, LS9 engine number/bar code labels are on front and rear surfaces of LH cylinder head, as they are on LS7's. They can easily be decoded to figure out build date.
To date, all LS9's are built on line A2 at Wixom Performance Build Center (except Corvette Engine Build Experience engines which are built on A4).

Have a great Thanksgiving! We all have so much to be thankful for…
Hope you’re able to get a few more rides in this year. I had a chance to ride in a ZR1 at SEMA – with a professional driver from Spring Mountain – WOW!! What a rush! All I could do was laugh….
