Default Redesigned ZR1? Project M Supercar to be GTR or ZR1/Z06?

Not sure if you guys have been following the Project M car that's being made right now. I have and it's very sick. Basically Jason Castriota, the guy that designed the Ferrari 599, GranTurismo, Ferrari P4/5 and Maserati Birdcage, is building a new one off supercar with Bertone (the guys who designed the Countach) They've been releasing very sick videos every week but overall any information on the car has been very tight lipped.

Edmunds recently released that this car is going to be built on the chassis of a GTR. Then of course Jalopnik did an article about that Edmunds article. They took a screenshot of the chassis and to me it looks like it's a Corvette. Am I nuts? How sick would it be if this thing was based on the ZR1.

Speaking as someone who sees stripped C6's everyday, that's a Z06 or ZR1 chassis. Front impact bar, front suspension, oil sump tank. The windshield frame is different but it unbolts from the main chassis structure and makes sense for the redesign of this structure since it's a rebody. The front inner fender (wheelhouse) is a two-piece bonded unit from the factory but looks as if they have removed the outermost part and left the innermost piece bonded to the frame. That's my take on it as of now. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so. Like I said, I view these exact pieces on a daily basis so it's hard to mistake them.

Sure looks like a ZR1 to me

Look at the:
control arms
dry sump tank
massive brake rotors
tie rod
front bumper
radiator support
the cover over the engine is in the shape of the ZR1 cover

Well, you don't even have to look at the photos, the title said project SUPERCAR. It sure the hell isn't going to be based on a GTR.

Looks like a Z06/ZR1 chassis for sure... look at the control arm, dry sump tank, brakes, front crash bar etc. I've seen lots of these cars "naked" as have others on here.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that is a ZR1 chassis.

A ZR1 chassis wouldn't be bad place to start. I can't think of a better front engine set up to work with.
