Stock ZR1 10.69 w/drag radial
Took ZR1 to Orlando Speedworld track rental today. My car is a 2010 with 350 miles on it. Ranger met me there and was kind to let me use his drag radials. I have never drivin this particular model car at the strip before. The first pass was actually my first time rowing the gears in it as I live 1 mile from work so I never really get to drive the car too much. Anyway the DA was + 400 and the air temp was approx 64 degrees. Was not my best 60 ft. on this pass, but my best 60 ft. 1.62 I messed up the 1/2 shift. So this was my best pass (pass 6 or 7)
Thanks again Ranger for the wheels/tires!
Jason
I might have video later.

Was a pleasure watching Jason ride a very fast learning curve to 10.69 at a positive-400 foot density altitude. I suspect with more seat time he'll be in the hunt for fastest stock ZR1 on DRs, and doing that from Florida.
This was my first visit to Orlando Speedworld and it's a nice facility. Friendly management. Excellent track prep. Just 8-9 cars running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m in a consolidated rental. Saturday is race day at OSW; so today (Sunday) the track surface was still sporting a pretty nice racing groove. Track surface temp was 75-85 degrees.
Full sun; temp in the mid-60s. Track surface temp was 75-85 degrees. Gentle breeze. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Best sight of the day, other than Jason's fast passes, was a good-looking mid-20s mother of two toddlers, parking their tandem-stroller in the staging lanes, while she strapped on the helmet and climbed into a SC Mustang and hammered out 10.000 138+. After the pass, she breast-fed the youngest one while her husband made tuning adjustments to the Mustang for her next pass. Ahhh, the family-side of Florida track rentals.

Great pass! Did you make any stock tire passes? What was your highest trap of the day? Someone needs to start a ZR1 fast list
How was your 3/4 shift on this pass? Your 1/8 trap was very high compared to your 1/4 trap?.....not picking apart your driving it was a great pass im just very interested in what we can get these times down to.

Now that I have a feel for the car. If I make it back for another rental things will improve. I never cooled down the blower as much as I like. I think there is some more time left on the table with better launch, better weather, and mabye a little with shifting. Fastest trap was probably 131.?
I did not run street tires as the 23 years I have been running cars at OSW, I have NEVER had a decent time on street tires. Track prep was decent today so looking back I should have probably given it a try.
All in all decent for my first day driving a ZR1 at speed.

Congrats on a great new PB!!! What time did you run that run? Thats a interesting break down of 1/8mi and 1/4mi. Car was SCREAMING in the 1/8mi and let up a tad in the 1/4 IMO. With Rangers help you will do better I'm sure.
I'm gonna go down with 1blownlt1&C6Z and help make everyone in here sad Gonna show who's the best of the best and who's just the rest!
Note to self... buy ZR1 go 10.4x's and sell before first payment due

If anyone questions the positive-400 foot Density Altitude Jason reported, I furnished him the # based on my measurement track-side using a Kestrel-4250 hand-held weather station, same one used by most NHRA top fuel & funny car crew chiefs as a basis for making final adjustments during car staging. Accurate enough for them and for me. Dramatically more accurate than DragTimes.com.

Thats just shadowing sunshine I'll see if I can look in the video of your car its almost a optical illusion. When you're sitting at the line due to the shiney/shaded area it looks like one tire is off the ground while sitting there but its not. If he got a tire off the ground he would have to do a POP and bog launch. Basically way to much RPM clutch dump, grabs car jumps way up and falls on its face.

The tire was off the ground twice. My first two passes and it did bog bad afterwards. First pass it was about 4-6 inches off. After I got the hang of it, the tires never left the ground. I was still suprised it happend with drag radials.
Oh, and the porsche is an 07, tiptronic. It went 11.21 The new PDK cars are MUCH faster.
