[ZR1] How do you drive with front splitter

How do you drive with front splitter
Hey guys,
I'm enjoying my ZR1 everyday, however, I keep scrapping front carbon splitter every time car is in & out of my garage. I used to have 06 Z06, but ZR1 seems more lowered than the Z.
I thinking about to take the car to the dealer to remove the carbon splitter and change it to Z06 plastic front part.
I am just wondering how you guys to manage to drive with such lowered car.

Have you looked underneath the carbon splitter to see if that is what you are actually scrapping?? I scrape the rubber air spoiler all the time on my driverway just like the other vettes I have owned in the past 11 years. I have yet to scrape the carbon fiber front splitter on my driveway. I had an 06Z for 5 years. It appears to me that my ZR1 is no lower than my 06Z.

I've had very little trouble too. Next time you leave your garage, stop at the scrape point and get out and look. I'll bet you are scraping those cheap rubber flaps that are well below and behind the splitter.

Maybe you need to install some of those small ramps at the garage opening to help the car lower slowly from one elevation to the next. Seems someone posted a website some time ago about a company that makes something for just this use (or to put at the end of your driveway). I'll see if I can find the post.
My only issue is stupid curbs/stops.

I also need to check if there is rubber right behind front splitter or not when I get to the house.

Hit you're garage sideways or something but don't take off the carbon and put the plastic Z06 one on. Yuck. I went through 4 splitters on my Z06s and never scraped my lowered Zr1.

OK Beasty - check this out. I finally found that post. Don't take off that splitter - that's part of the cars personality. See it this would work for you (assuming it's not your air dam that scraping).

Good luck with your issue.

If you are seeing damage below the splitter lip, then that certainly is a bad thing and some kind of action is needed. Changing to a Z06 splitter to preserve the carbon fiber for the next owner may be necessary if you can't find another solution. Good luck.

I agree. I've had zero problems with the ZR1 splitter scraping. With my Z, all you had to do was look at it and it would scrape!

well I can tell you if you hit a dead something in the road (couldn't avoid it ) you will break the plastic one on a Z06....I need a new one now

on any exit inclines I swing over to the left side ( where people would come in ) and drive out at a 45 degree angle. That is if no one is turning in.
This seems to help.

That's what I've been doing all these days. I've tried swing over to left or right side but still scrapping front splitter.
Thanks for the tip though.
