Default Fartpipe goes 10.424@134.24mph 1.582 60ft Stock ZR1 w/DR's

First I have to thank the biggest contributor to todays passes/ETs is Kyle Lemish. Without his incite todays would have definitely not been possible. I had a lot of support at the track today which made it all the more fun. The stock 2009 ZR1 with Drag radials only performed better than I thought it would be able to in the weather at hand. In the end though as I told Kyle my goal was a 10.49 but I didnt want to tell anyone the lofty goal I had for myself. Fear of failing miserably held in there pretty well. I watched video after video of Kyles runs, Rangers and others listening to how the car would sound on the launch, what the shifts should be like everything I could think of to study. The DA started off my first pass around -900DA and I believe the DA started to away to around -300DA. Cant get a complaint in the weather department. I do feel it was a clean DA day which no 2 DA's are created equal IMO. With that said heres a break down of the runs.

1st pass of the day
Engine temps at 200degrees before launch
60ft-1.71
330ft-4.649
1/8-7.009
1/8mph-104.92
1000ft-9.026
1/4mi-10.725
1/4mph-133.10

2nd pass after a short cool down (less than 15min)
Engine temps at 196degrees before launch
60ft-1.585
330ft-4.458
1/8-6.807
1/8mph-105.44
1000ft-8.813
1/4mi-10.502
1/4mph-133.70

3rd pass after a long cool down 1hour (several break downs)
engine coolant temps at 158 degrees bogged bad on this run
60ft-1.632
330ft-4.555
1/8-6.904
1/8mph-105.54
1000ft-8.909
1/4mi-10.600
1/4mph-133.54

4th pass after 20min cool down
engine coolant temps at 197 degrees before launch
60ft-1.585
330ft-4.503
1/8-6.853
1/8mph-105.48
1000ft-8.860
1/4mi-10.552
1/4mph-133.50

5th pass after a long LONG cool down with many more breakages
60ft-1.583
330ft-4.472
1/8-6.820
1/8mph-105.41
1000ft-8.826
1/4mi-10.515
1/4mph-133.87

6th pass after 30minute cool down
engine coolant temp was 194 before launch
60ft-1.563
330ft-4.456
1/8-6.807
1/8mph-105.24
1000ft-8.818
1/4mi-10.512
1/4mph-133.42

Most IMPORTANT AND FINAL PASS! I launched with releasing the clutch just a tad slower than the launches previously. I shifted as fast as I could possibly shift the car.
60ft-1.582
330ft-4.415
1/8-6.746
1/8mph-106.06
1000ft-8.741
1/4mi-10.424
1/4mph-134.24

WHEELS UP?

Video per Double a vette another great forum member who lent another friend of mine his targa top due to a tragedy enroute for Devilish's top. Arnold brought along the best videographer I've EVER EVER seen!!! Cant this little guy enough! He gets the angles, the shots that count. He was videoing all day and rushed the vids up!

Been waiting to see the results of today.

DAMN BRO!!!...Excellent passes!!!...Looks like you've seen the light (first pic).

I believe you have the record for trap speed?...

Congratulations on having a great (to say the least) first outing with your ZR1.

We'll be waiting for results on stock tires...maybe next time?...

Congratulations on those maiden passes !!! Great Numbers !!!

Normally we would be reporting inches of snow with possible drifting in mid-February . . .

Impressive for sure! Nicely done, good shots and video. Looks like the DR is shorter helping with the gearing a bit.

Wow. Just wow.

Great driving.

Should have titled thread "Bone stock ZR pulls both front wheels off the ground on launch".

That is fine application of power.

Congrats, man.

I would've thought NO FN way the wheels pop up until Kyle completely proved me wrong and the other white one on here from Florida. I just couldnt believe it was even possible. I even proved myself to be a idiot and wrong. They definitely do pop up on hard launches. I believe this is partly due to the ZR1 has I'm guessing 1inch less suspension travel and the magnetic ride doesnt let the wheel fall down as fast. Possibly stiffer suspension making it happen aswell.

I'm about 98% sure Kyle has trapped 135's on 19in Nittos drag radials. Stock tire passes scare the crap out of me. I'm happy with the #2 position behind the grand puba Kyle and may leave the street tires alone.

Way to go! Your shifting sounds like an automatic, you really have it down pat.

I can hear you slipping the clutch quite a bit more on the last run and it really worked!

An amazingly fast car, and very well driven.

Got any scans? Would love to see the launch rpm, technique, and shift times. Would give me something to shoot for.

Nice passes. I drove 5 hours only to go slower.

So is she still going to stay stock or are the upgrades beginning now?
