Default Badly wrecked ZR1 at Carlisle today…Anyone know the story??? pics

Saw this at Carlisle today.
Looks like it was flipped, ripped and spit out.
Hope the driver survived.
Was wondering if anyone knew the story.

Looks like the ZR1 from the Big Bend Open Road Race this year --- if it is, this happened during the practice session. The driver was OK!

I can tell you it only had 4760-something miles on it... and the owner's name was "ROB"

I bought the instrument cluster out of it. There wasn't a single scratch on it.

Now I 'gotta figure out how to make the boost gauge work with my setup.

Good question.
The car was already picked pretty clean.

I was surprised the cluster was still in it.

I imagine for the right price, it would be worth having it for the aluminum frame and VIN/title.

Did you get the cluster at the show or at some time previously? If at the show, they were probably selling parts - was there a pricelist?

Bought it at the show. There was no price list. I had to track down the vendor and haggle him.
He wanted $250 for it. I offered $200. Bought it for $225.

It was already unplugged and unscrewed from the dash. All I had to do was pay him and pull it out of the dash opening.

The same vendor had another gutted C6 chassis on a trailer at a different space.

I have that vendor's number if anybody needs it - he had a ton of C6 parts, everything you can think of. I'm buying the rear hubs off that ZR1.

Who is the vendor? Been looking for a low mile/complete and reasonably priced LS3.

Yep, he was a pretty cool guy. Busy as heck with everyone pestering him for prices.

I asked him for a business card. He didn't have one. Told me to look up "Vettwrecks.com"

He has A LOT of late model stuff for sure. I almost bought a pair of C6Z quarter panels from him. He had at least a dozen or more of each side... and in various colors too.

Here's his website...
