Took one for a test drive
Hi All,
Recently I test drove a 2009 ZR1. The looks and power were awesome however the front spoiler/air dam scraped on the ground during a few grade changes. Is there a modification available to change the front spoiler/air dam for more clearance? I would only be using the car as a daily driver on the street.
Cheers

my first zr1 was lowered on stock bolts and i scrapped a lot and now on my second zr1 it's at stock height and i don't scrape at all. you should see if it's at stock height and adjust accordinly

2700 miles on my stock one and I've never scraped it, but I came from a lowered Z06 so I know all the "tricks" - most of which are paying attention and not driving it like a truck.

Pull in on an angle, meaning one tire at a time, it works on any low car.

Also, it may be just scraping on the underside of the splitter and not the front, clear-coated (visible) portion. Mine has done this a few times and unless you lay on the ground looking up at the underside, you cannot tell any difference. I would just check to see if it's visible, drive slow at an angle up inclines and enjoy that bad boy

Both of mine are lowered on stock bolts and I do not scrape the splitter, just occasionally touch the plastic air dam underneath the car. Of course, I remain aware of what I am driving and take parking lot humps and angled driveways very carefully.

I am not so sure that a ZR1 makes for the best daily driver. You should reconsider that notion.
My daily driver is a 2013 Subaru Outback 3.6 Limited. I love its practicality, AWD, relative fuel economy, storage space, etc.
P.S. it has considerable ground clearance and never scrapes anything.
