This is not correct. I have a GM indoor car cover and it does not scratch my vehicle. It is also machine washable... no issues.

You are incorrect. That is my car under that cover and it is black. I can assure you that the cover has not scratched the car in any way.If you cover a clean car with a clean cover and fold the cover in a way that the inside the cover does not touch the outside. You will not get any more scratches than you would washing the car and drying it properly.
