Default Hang on to your ZR1!

Zr1 will be still be GM fastest car! The Z06 was tested
11.2 @ 127mph for the stick and 10.95 @ 127 for the A8.

Means to me the ZR1 still has the power to weight and will win the highway and top speed show down as well as as at the strip with
slicks!

The Z06 at 3525 to over 3600 pounds.

Zr1 resale will still be good!

ZR1 at 3281 1lz 3353 3lz

What were GM's official stats for the C6 ZR1?

I'm doing the best of both worlds. Keeping my C6 ZR1 and getting a C7 Z06 to tide me over until the C7 ZR1 comes.

I'll use the C7 Z06 as a daily beater and keep the ZR1 for track days and special occasions.

Newer isnt always nicer looking, there have been plenty of cars over the years that had downgrades in appearance as newer generations came out.

Like all new models give it some time and it will grow on you.I was putting gaz a week ago and a guy pulled up with a white c7 vette red interior and red lips on his wheels it was drop dead gorgeous. Not to mention the interior.c6 wide body cars are gorgeous for sure but the c7 is definitely a step up.

True two examples C2 > C3 Vettes, Gen 2 > Gen 3 Vipers (Coupes)....IMO!

Agreed : Though the new z06 is impressive, for a brand new platform, i was expecting to see a little more in the way of a lighter weight, and performance ! Anyone can make a car go fast in a straight line via:hellcat. The new z is extremely close to the performance of a c6 zr1. Straightline, g's and braking are neck and neck. why not save 40k ? until the mid engine comes out

Aaaaand the C7 ZR1 speculation already starts

What makes you all so sure there will even be a C7 ZR1?

Oh, and I've been saying all along that the C7 Z06 won't walk away from the C6 ZR1 like people were saying and that it might not even measure up and I caught all hell. I guess that's what you get for using logic in the circlejerk that is the C7 section.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...was-crazy.html <----- Wish me luck

Was planning on keeping my ZR1 and waiting for the A8 Z06. Now I'm just keeping my ZR1.

These times were done with the Z07 package with Sport Cup tires so 11.2@127 sounds about right for the manual on sticky tires, and even more impressive with the A8. I figured the higher torque would carry the extra 200lbs to make acceleration a wash vs a ZR1, but I'm surprised that the mph is so low. I believe the ZR1 was 11.3@131-132 on stock tires. Sport Cups would easily knock a few tenths off that time and still keep a 130+ trap speed.

On a big road course, the aero package in Z07 will put it above a ZR1 so GM claiming it went a full second faster around their proving grounds is believable, but I'm curious if the old record ZR1 time was on PS2 tire or on Sport Cups. At Nurburgring, the ZR1 left the ground a few times so I fully expect the Z06 with the Z07 package to run quicker. The ZR1 set the production car record at 7:19, but was later beaten by the Viper ACR and Nismo GT-R which both had big aero packages.

So other than big high speed tracks that can benefit from the aero package, it looks like the Z06 will NOT be any faster than a ZR1.
