Zr1 is still the fastest vette ever.
After watching the video of a viper t/a destroying a brand new c7 z06 from any speed start to finish i am sort of happy to say the Zr1 is still the fastest stock corvette ever produced.I was shocked to see how easily the new Viper pulled on the c7 Z06.Go to the c7 z06 forums and see for yourselves.Heat soak cannot be the only reason but it was embarassing for the c7 z06 to perform so poorly.I now believe the 126 mph trap speed that motor trend reported.Nice looking ,gorgeous interior but slow.

I don't own a ZR1 ( I have a '13 GS ) nor have ever drove one but I am kind of partial to the C6 brand and it's great to see the ZR1 is still king. Boy it seems like the new Z is not going to perform as per the GM kool aid and everybody else who drank it. Sh**t it's even slower than the car it replaced up to 150!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh the stories I could tell
ZR FTW A C7 may be a nice addition once they get the issues under control. BAMF isn't going anywhere

yeah, the aero is a nice thought I'm not sure how it will help in a road course where you are under 100 for most it… of course I'm "new" at aero for cars, and I have a friend with a miata that has aero and it did make a big difference (though we are talking park bench wing and a splitter that's massive…basically think ACR wing)

There were no C7 Z's this past weekend at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, but my ZR1 destroyed everything else it came across this weekend in the advanced run group. I passed dozens of cars, including Vipers, Vettes, GT3's new 991's, 997's, 996's, etc., Ferraris, McLarens, etc. and got passed exactly zero times.
The ZR1 is still a monster and I love owning and driving one.

You would have done the same driving many of those other cars. When we are talking about car performance capabilities at this level it's up to the Driver's of said cars to be able to access that performance.
You smashed the other Drivers at the event and happened to be in a ZR1 while you did it. The outcome would have been the same if you were in the McLaren, Viper ACR or whatever. I have seen your videos. Lol!!

can't agree more with this…kinda why I wish the C7 board got a real life clue that it really doesn't matter….you could be in a ZR1 and blow off the mighty C7Z06 and vise versa….the fact that some just think they will beat GT3's all day just because they happen to be in a C7Z06 is by far the most funny and idiotic thing I've came across…. Was the C6Zr1 section that bad back in 09 too?
