I had to remove the pump while changing the cam to get to the tensioner. How do you install the pump without ruining the gasket??

First of all : did you change to a different style of tensioner? I am asking because i did while installing am cam. The dogbone tensioner has thicker bolts which will Lift the pump a tenth of a Millimeter away from the Block. Really dangerous because you will loose Oil pressure.

Regarding the pump: once removed carefully grind a small radius on the bottom where the sharp edges are. That way the pump slides in smoothly and is easier to uninstall in the Future as well.
