Default ZR1 Rear Wheel Grease Fittings

Often overlooked and seldom greased are the ZR1/Z06 rear wheel grease fittings. Took these pictures while my 2012 ZR1 was on a lift for pre purchase inspection in 2013.

Don't overgrease because you are not going to like the grease coming out onto those carbon ceramic rotors so close by.

it is so easy to over grease those zerk fittings and after a few miles it squishes out of the boots and can fly everywhere. Been there; done that on other vehicles.

Yes it is easy to over grease and it makes a mess. I have "been there; done that" too on both my Z06s and now my ZR1.

Those are tie rod end fittings, also on the Z06 and Z51 cars.

You do bring up a good point though, they are often overlooked.

Nice purchase, not many AW 2013 ZR's produced.

I give it only one or two pumps on my old Sears hand grease gun once per year for daily drivers. Been doing that with my previous 07 vert and 06Z as well and seems not to be too much from long time experience with those cars.
