Default Best Year for the ZR1

I'm considering looking for a low mileage ZR1, so am wondering which year was the quickest, best handling, best interior finish year for the ZR1?

I think they are all good. Buy the newest you can easily afford. I started out looking for a 2010 and wound up buying a 2013. Small differences between the years, nothing huge. They are all bad azzzzzzz

Then no need to comment and read the thread if it annoys you

They're all good, no one year shines above the others. There are a few very minor differences, but nothing big.

Default Best Year for the ZR1

I was looking for a Red 12/13 for the seats, then the Perf Package (didn't like the wheels) and ended up with a pristine 2010 Yellow with only 1,400 miles.
Choose the color you like and go with the least miles, no stories car. Better to go with a reputable dealer for piece of mind...

I own a '10 but if I were searching today, I would look for an '11 first, then a '10. Here's the points that would steer me in that direction.

1. '10s and above have Performance traction management and launch control.

2. '09-'11s have a two cat exhaust rather than four, and the performance ratio transmission standard.

3. '11s have the benefit of a usb, and banana plug input in the center console, also a slightly different seat than previous years (squared headrests).

The '12-'13s have a more substantial difference in the seats, so check them out to see if they tickle your fancy. Just be aware that the Performance package has to be included on the sticker for you to have the original transmission which is a close ratio. The standard gearing is taller in the '12-'13s for slightly better gas mileage (1 MPG).

As others have indicated, there's not that much difference between any of them, so most of your decision to buy "any" year ZR1 may come down to your desired color, and most importantly, condition and price of the car.

My opinion is if you have the money I would buy the last year generation model. For me, that would be for any car. Normally the last year is the best because they fixed and corrected all the little problems.

But like the previous members said, there all good, but that's a personal choice, and how much you want to spend.

I wanted a 12 or 13 for the slightly more functional seats but much better looking than previous years. And I had to have the Cup wheels. Best GM wheel ever IMO.

Default What year

I agree with comments regarding condition and color being primary consideration. FWIW, my car was a first day of production ('09 car delivered in September of '08). It has no teething gremlins. Car has been flawless. Fluid changes, new set of tires and a battery so far. If I were buying used now, I would give some weight to the near seats. I would never use launch control so no interest in that.

Good luck. Great cars. Last of a breed. Can still feel lineage back to the '60's. C7's are phenomenal, just a totally different direction.

It's been long well established that the cyber gray metallic ZR1's are "the quickest, best handling, best interior finish year for the ZR1".

IMO, there's not a significant difference between any of them so as others have said, find a nice low mileage car, check it out as best you can and if it's good, go for it. The low-mileage ZR1 at an amazing price will not last. They'll all be gone soon.
