My car has a pretty strong exhaust smell with the cats gutted. Enough of a smell that when the wife and I take it out for very long our cloths smell of it when we r done.
Kinda sucks but what r u going to do.

Go smell your lawnmower exhaust...same smell, just significantly more exhaust volume. Add a large cam, and the smell can become fairly strong. Some can tolerate it, and some cannot. Like said above, it becomes like a cologne.
If you don't want the smell, run cats with the 710 package. However, if you're running a lot of full throttle, the cats can get cooked.

Just had mine gutted with the LP750 kit. Like the others have said, it does have an 'exhaust' smell, but not too bad. It beats the alternative of melted cats and the subsequent damage that may go along with it.
To put it in perspective, it still has less 'exhaust' smell than my '69 Z28 with a 454 cu. in. and a big roller cam, large double pumper carb, etc. That one is pretty strong, exhaust wise.
Go to any cruise night gathering and there are tons of older muscle cars that are pre-cat era. Not a problem in my personal case.
(I like Peter's answer...it smells like man cologne...).

I called Lingenfelter direct, before doing the job. I spoke with Jesse, I think. He was very helpful and more than willing to offer information. I did ask him about the cats, and he said it would work either way, and they did test their kits with stock exhaust. However, he did agree.....gutting them would be a much safer course of action.

i was thinking of adding a cam, how you like your 750 built? any issues?
The 710 kit doesn't have a cam, unless you were going to add that in addition to the kit. The 750 has the cam, heads, injectors, snout, pulleys, CAI, etc.

I wouldn't not do the 710 because of the smell with gutted cats. The performance gains for exceed the smell u have to deal with.
The smell isn't nearly as bad as my c6 z06 without cats and heads/cam. And it was a smaller cam without much overlap.

Great tune helps I'm sure, but it really runs nice. Idles just a bit higher with the LP cam, but not too bad at all.

what tires you running on the back?
Love it. No issues at all, drives just like stock, except when I step on the gas. The tires just get punished now (as if they had it easy before the 750 mods).
