Default First standing HALF mile in germany - finished 3rd place!

We came back from the first official Standing HALF mile race in Germany and are more than happy with the outcome

We finished 3rd place in the 750-1000hp class with a top Speed of 170mph.

my mod list:
- 2,60 pulley
- LPE snout CNC ported for 102mm TB
- 4" intake with the big Halltech filter
- CNC´d LS9 heads
- ported blower
- cam
- modded intercooler lid
- brick mod
- gutted cats
- ID850
- BB Fusion extreme mufflers

Big Thanks go to Pat G who did the tune via email and datalogging. Great guy to work with. His tune works like crazy.
Another big thanks to Jim Hall from Halltech who provided the big Super Bee II filter.

First place went to a nearly 1000hp Porsche Turbo with 178mph. Now we are thinking what to do to get the first place next time?! 2.3 pulley? meth? nitrous?

Tim

We had strong headwind that day, but can someone estimate how much power our car should make with that Kind of topspeed?
Thanks

Do you think its possible if you put the oem spoiler back on it you may have less drag? Not sure if it would make any difference or not. Is that a Katech spoiler? Nice run!

Hello Tim,

A stock 436 HP Corvette will be right at 160 mph in the standing mile.

A stock C6 ZR1 will be 180 ish mph in the standing mile.

Douglas in Green Bay

Land Speed Motorcycle racer Turbo Hayabusa

Thats crazy. A slightly modded (LPE kit) ZR1 at the same Event made 155mph. And when I take a look at the forum´s fast list for Standing half mile Events 95% are waaay under 180?! Fastest stock ZR made 157....

I am not sure either. Spoiler came with the car so I do not know who made it - and i do not have the stock part.

I am really thinking of spraying 150 shot -- but who knows how much faster it will get in the half mile...?!

Thanks!

What was the temperature and elevation like? I have done 179mph in the 1/2 mile without nitrous. Did you take some datalogs of these passes for your tuner to review? I always encourage my customers to datalog as much as possible at race events for me to review. 1/2 mile and especially 1 miles runs open up a whole different can of worms. if there are any small issues, (tuning or mechanical) they will be magnified during extended runs.

You sure you aren't getting 1/2 mile and full mile confused? 157 on the fastest list is 1/2 mile

I've seen stock C6 ZR1s run 178--183 in a standing mile (Texas Mile event). My p/b is 179.

Makes much more sense. 170 is great for those mods. Good job.
