CAGS 1-4 skip shift question
I was reminded the other day on an on-ramp that I've not by-passed the CAGS skip shift in my ZR1 as I did in my other vettes. Embarrassing.
CORVETTE MODS site has a 'skip shift bypass fuse' for $14.95. How does this fuse work? I remember having to go under my other vettes and bypassing the plug into the transmission.
Thanks!!

it's a rip off, you can buy a LED fuse for 3$ .... basically what you want is one of those mini fuse that has a light that comes on when it "pops". You take a small screw driver and manually pop the fuse, insert it in lieu of the CGAS fuse (at the fuse box). The little light will draw enough amps to trick the computer to think all is fine....the 1 -> 4 light will come on but the solenoid will not activate.

If you shift at a low speed it wont let you go to second gear, you will go to fourth gear, that is a trick for the gas guzler tax if I remember right. You can avoid this by shifting at a little higher rpm or go from 1 to 3, these engine have way enough torq to do that

Yes but you blow the lighted fuse to break the connection for CAGS and the fuse light draws enough power to make the car think CAGS is still working.
