No. turbo goes into a 7in piece of aluminum tubing then into the throttle body.. you can see it in some of the pictures

That's living on the edge. Why not plumb in a air-to-air intercooler core?

Looks, and ease of install and fabrication.

But after popping the motor I do believe I need something to cool the charge. Will likely try meth injection before I try an actual intercooler

Meth is certainly fine/effective...but then your car is essentially dependent upon it. If the meth system fails, potentially you have another motor failure. My personal preference...I'd never run a high HP turbo car without an intercooler. It's always in place, so its a bit more "set it and forget it" than say a meth kit with relays, switches, etc. Either way, its a cool concept.

Yes. I see what you are saying. But you're adding weight and more potential leak sources, more clamps and piping to deal with when removing and reinstalling, possible radiator and cooling issues.

I wouldn't even think about an air to air mounted in the front bumper at this point.

I am constantly thinking about doing a intake mounted air to water, but haven't pulled the trigger just yet.. my main concern with that being mounting a water tank in the car. And having to listen to the pump and water slosh around when I'm trying to just cruise around.

I had Turbo car for many years that had an air to air intercooler...front mount units can be very efficient, and I wouldn't hesitate to use one again if needed. But yes, you are correct that if you go front mount, you'll need to keep an eye on all the fluids that are also being cooled up front and are now presumably cooled behind the intercooler. Weight won't be that much of a factor; just some aluminum bits and pieces...especially with all that new found power now with a cooler/denser intake charge.

Yes on all my previous turbo builds I've used air to air.

Just didn't feel it was the right way to go in a corvette

I would go with a stand alone intercooler with creative ducting. I'm with you, I don't like the idea of stacking radiators...

I'd do a water setup. You can't even hear my pump in the trunk when it's on unless it's like dead quiet at a stop.

What's yours look like? ive seen some with hoses and **** running around the hatch. Which I don't think I'd like to do on mine...

Been thinking about mounting it under the car somewhere, but then would need to have some sort of extended fill neck to fill it every so often...

Could also do something like the LPE intercooler intake manifold. It's not cheap though! Not might fit under the stock ZR1 hood!

I actually called to order it. But it was made to order and had a 3 month wait.. I'd rather just fab one locally than go that route and wait on theirs.

A tank like that wouldn't be so bad. Especially because it's just more weight over the rear..

I guess I was just picturing a big fuel cell looking thing taking up the whole hatch area.

Yeah man I'd get with AldoWelds. Fairly good price on them and it uses a Rule 3700 pump, pumps some major water lol.
