Got a Ticket in Smithville, TX ( Bastrop Co) Today
82 in a 55 and he wouldn't budge on cutting me a break. I can't take DD for this because I'm >25 miles over the limit.
Does anyone know of a local traffic ticket attorney I can contact who is local to the area. Thanks

Search the public records for infractions/speeding tickets, when you find the section then search for cases dismissed or continued, the case may or may not list the Attorney and the outcome.
Look for an Attorney who seems to get the job done.
When you find the "Attorney" with the best results call him.
Don't ask me how I know these things..........but my last reckless driving charge got dropped to simple speeding, with only 9 mph over and I paid $100 fine.
Don't ask me what the Attorney in VA cost me to get out of it !!!

Go Fast
That is damn good advice! I had a similar situation my self where the cop wouldn't budge. My real estate lawyer referred me to a traffic lawyer. Cost me $$$ to get a ticket resolved last year but worth it. Good luck

If you are worried about your 27 over being a "reckless driving" offense, don't assume that. I got a 27 over ticket 11 years ago by Harris County P5 constable when B-8 was 55 due construction zone. It was just a simple speeding ticket though a big fine due to being 27 over. No reckless charge added to it. I paid it online thru the Harris County website. No more citations since then but have gotten several warnings.

The state of VA is special, they write reckless driving for many different reasons, 20 over regardless of how fast you are going is reckless or 81 MPH.
I was traveling 83 in a 70, no big deal right ???
in any other state it would be simple speeding, not in good old VA.
crash in a snowstorm due to weather, "reckless driving"
don't signal, change lanes, officer deems it was unsafe......."reckless driving"
they are a money grubbing, ticket writing state full of LEO's that give no body a break.
good friend of mine from CT was on the job, 25 year career LEO with CT State Police, guess what, no love in Rockbridge County VA for him.
They wrote a fellow LEO like he was any old body, the VA LEO stated we don't like you Yankees down here, your badge don't mean nothing to us.
Hmmmmm, I don't drive thru, or visit VA, period.
That state can pound sand from me, I won't visit that state or even drive in it, about all I will do is fly over it.

Call Jim Lollar in Fort Worth. Ive been using him for 20 years. He will stall it in the system for 2 or more years then it will be dropped. He might not do Bastrop but can send you somewhere. Worth the call
