Default '05-'06 1LT Prices...

With the '07 & new '08 prices around the $39-41K, how can we justify 37-40K for a USED base 1LT thats 2-3 yrs old? There is NO incentive for me to buy used anymore. I think I'm better off saving a bit more & either buying new or a leftover. I can understand someone who is trying to sell a 3LT, but a base w/ even a Z51 option what's the deal?

Chances are the people that have the cars you mentioned weren't able to get their car for those prices. They would not be able to stomach taking a bath that would put the price down to what you think it should be at.

You are right in that you should just buy a new one. That's what I'm doing for the same reason.

Also, for those that are selling those cars, the forum is the worst place to sell them because people know how much a brand new one can be had for. However, you would be surprised at how many people want a Corvette but don't even know that the forum exists and that you can get a brand new one for that. So, they will pay those prices for used simply because they don't know any better.

That said, if a seller can get that kind of money out of it, doesn't make much sense for them to sell the car to you for what you feel it is worth based on new car prices.

Again, your best bet is to buy new.

Tons of pressure on them, They are coming down or they won't sell, a lot on the market.

We just had a very vigorous discussion on that on the c5 for sale forums - same thing with justifying an 02-04 Z06 in the mid 30s when an 08... well you can go read for yourself.

Agree with above - but with the caveat that it only takes one impulse buyer to pay 2-3k more then FMV to make the seller a happy person

It's not easy to find, but it is gravitating to that arena.

A loaded convertible seems to be the most reasonable to buy used...
