Why have you decided to "downgrade" to a "regular vette". Trying to decide myself if the Z06 is that much better than the 2008 LS3, only 69 less horses.

That statement says it all, (only 69 horses). If you think thats the only difference then yes I would get the LS3

I can't even stand to look at a normal Corvette after the Z06. The body is so much better looking and aggressive on the Z06, not to mention all the other goodys they come with.

don't rely on other's opinions, I'm sure Houston area has plenty of used 427 Z06s on lots that you could test drive. And I'm sure a new 08 ls3 car wouldn't be that hard to test drive, either. See for yourself, just make sure you get a clean stretch to open the 427 car up fully in the first 2 and half gears.

i am also interested in Harvey's reasons for going to a vert.. I have an o6 vert which i love but i have thought about a z06, although i would keep the vert as well. So without bashing either car or Harvey i'm just curious if the fixed roof on the z06 is one of the issues for Harvey.

Default 2007 Zo6 For Sale

First let me tell you I have had close to 45 new vettes and this 2007 ZO6 is the BEST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED......I have had 0 Problems-its a Dream and I live in Metroplitan area--so my Driving is a lot of Stop and go....I love the car--- it also ,as you all know draws trmendous attention .....I ordered the Convertible in May thinking with the 4LT package I would have it in July for the SUMMER..timing has always worked before but not in this instance...the car comes off line on the 18th with Museum delivery on the 27th---I am shipping it back by enclosed trailor so I guess October 1st---there goes the Summer....if I had known this I would have PROBABLY ordered another ZO6---but my attention span with Cars is short so I can see me back ina ZO6 by the Spring....... I do LOVE the Convertible also and wanted to drive an Automatic for a while and give my wife a shot.......she puts up with all my CAR nonsense and I have already planted a Seed about a 2008 ZO6 in the Horizon......the only downside I see in a 2008 ZO6 is the fact that in 2008 they will take a BIG HIT with the ZR1 coming on Board...but so be it..........Again no Complaints love the ZO6 and the decision was made based on timing ONLY.........I have had 3 Serious bids on the car(Less then $68,000)--and it wouldn't take much for me to keep it...stay tuned.,....HTG39@AOL.COM

That's a lot of vettes .....I gotta disagree with the ZR1 affecting Z06 values.....with dealer markups it'll be twice as much as the Z06 and in such limited production it will little if any impact on used car prices.....

You are right --the markup for a ZR1 will be "HUGE"...I do know from a good Source that the Driving School issue is still on the table--that is a Requirement for Ownership....to me I can't see it and if they do that it would be a first and it looks like a CLASSSIC test in the Court Systems.....HTG39@AOL.COM

Not that you need to say anything more, but i want to know what is it about the z06 that would make you want to give it up for a convertible. If you wanted a vert for the summer it seems an expensive way to go about things ,selling , buying , then selling, why not have both. I ask because i think going from a vert to a fixed top is a decision i would regret, notwithstanding the increased power .

Default 2007 Zo6 For Sale

There is no reason to switch back to a convertible except as I stated--I have a short Tension span---also I wanted to try a Convertible with the new Automatic,,,,and I wanted my Wife to have a crack with the Auto...ALSO The summer had something to do with it.....now I can planto go back to the ZO6...NUTS RIGHT--Thats me and Thank God this is my only "VICE" and I can Handle it Financially without anyone in my Family Suffering...HTG39

ok, your entitled to spend your money as you see fit. A man with no vices has no redeeming qualities. I understand, as i have my own shtick. By the way, you have a good wife.

not to prolong the argument on a for sale thread (but I will---and instead, we can call this a "ttt" for the sale thread), I agree with Harvey that the Z06 may drop in price. Even with a huge markup for the new vehicle, it's a perception thing that something much better than the former best thing is out there. And it's a Corvette.

By contrast, I don't think there's that level of price competition betw. the Z06 and the base Corvette because it's not meant to be the end-all Corvette.

TTT for a good guy! Nice ride Harvey. Seems like you get a new one every year, or as long as I have known of you. I am W0614 from the C5 Registry, we waited out the 1999 strike via the message board. Your inside information helped everyone that year with the new ones we had on order. I can't keep up with you, how do you get your wife to agree every year to a new Corvette?

Seems like a VERY good price and deal to me. Good luck on the sale - should go quick, I think anyway! If I were in the market for an 07 Z you would probably have it sold since 2800 miles is NEW to me and you're asking about $10k under MSRP. Learned that the hard way on the 06 Z when I lost $10k.

Bump for ya Harvey!

So, your buyer will have to pay sales tax by going thru dealer....or is it payable regardless in NY??
