Default WTF: C6 Z06 Salvage or Rebuilt

Greetings ,

I'm looking at getting into a C6 Z06 sometime within the next few months. My only problem is that my budget caps out at 30k. So I'm looking for a C6 Z06 with a salvage or rebuilt title. The car doesn't necessarily need to even be fully fixed. If panels / bumpers / headlights / etc. are missing that's fine as well. Also, if anybody here knows of a good source for salvaged or rebuilt z06's please let me know. I'm really set on getting a Z06, I'm not interested in buying any other car. I understand salvage should be 50% of retail , so I'm positive that 20-30k range is correct for a salvage z06, obviously depending on why it was salvaged also and what sort of damage the car sustained.

Thanks guys

Can a salvage title z06 be titled in nevada? and if so how does it affect cost to own it?

Yeah, I spoke to the owner of that vehicle. Said that his bottom price was 27k. Thought that was a bit much considering that the car isn't even a Z06. I say 20k for that one would be reasonable. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't pay 20K for a salvaged base C6.

Yeah I guess you're right. As far as I know mods don't necessarily increase the value of a car, and with it being salvaged that would apply even more.

I haven't checked today to see if there are any z06s up for auction right now, but if you are specifically looking for a salvage, you might want to check out copart.com. They seem to have new cars up pretty much every day, so it might be worth a look...

you might keep an eye on www.kimmotor.com, they advertise in Hemmings a lot and usually have late model vettes listed.
