where will ZR1prices end up

zr1 prices
Keep in mind that most of the 2010-2011 ones are going out of warranty as well. Sure need a warranty on a supercharged car in my opinion. If they go out of warranty before you buy one, probably only can get an aftermarket one.

It remains to be see what the C7Z06 sells for, and what real transaction prices look like. At first, there will be some gouging and surely full sticker on highly optioned cars, so I am going to guess real prices on a C7Z06 will be $100-110K. I think that makes the $90K+ 2013s unsellable at that price, but I sure don't see it putting even 2009s into the $40K range. I'd say that the range, depending on miles and condition, will be 50s for 2009 to 70s for 2013 in early to mid 2015. They will continue to depreciate from there, of course, compounded by discounting on C6Z06s in 2016 and beyond.
But like anything, you can sit on the porch and yap, or you can pay what it costs to drive a car you want. As the saying goes, each day that goes by is one less day to live. Pay 95K for a 2013 and you probably lose 15K+ over the next year, but that's only abut 15-20% and I have news for you, high dollar exotics depreciate like that as a general rule.

not another one of these threads? ferraro lambo corvette...no matter what it is prices tank when the new models come out. lot of zr1 buyers will opt out when the new z06 comes out so prices will tank. come on guys we drive corvettes. they depreciate. its what cars do.

Why on a supercharged car more than on a n/a car?
I dont get why a warranty is more needed on a supercharged vs non supercharged car.Besides how many zr1 s are left stock? In fact very few will be left alone .Most have a 710 kit a set of headers and some are seriously modded. So the warranty is out the window in most cases.I think the zr1s that are left all stock will hold value as compared to their modded counterparts.

And what is wrong with discussing it?

I set myself a budget of 35k for my c6 coupe search. I'd would jump all over a zr1 if they get in the low 50's and I do not want a manual car.
Here's hoping

I'd $85k would be a safe bet, which would definitely depreciate the upper echelon of the C6 market, but it wouldn't put a ZR1 in the 1LE price range or anything drastic

This is absolutely NOT true; MOST buyers of any brand-new car DO NOT modify them mechanically whatsoever, ZR1 incuded. Floor mats and the like are as far as the average buyer of any new car, performance-oriented or otherwise, is willing to go. The forums skew perception of this because we comprise a cross-section of the auto enthusiast population that tends to be more passionate about and involved in our hobby, but the forums do NOT reflect the trends of the majority.
yep, and that's all it is - "rumored"...

Yeah that's what I said. I even said that's a big IF. If I was looking to buy a zr1 I'd certainly wait a month for the price announcement to see what's up. The old z06 had a boutique frame and engine. The new z06 uses the same frame and supercharged c7 engine. Should control costs.

75k?

I won't get into the pricing prediction myself because there is just no real way to tell.
However, from a buyer's point of view it is weird to see a nearly new (less that 2,000 miles) "base trim" 2013 Z06 sitting at a Chevy dealership next to a brand new C7 3LT, and the Z06 is priced just $1,500 lower than the C7.
It may not be the same as a used C6 ZR1 and the new C7 Z06. But, if I were in the market to buy either one, the C7 Z06 is the easy choice.
Admittedly, as a buyer, I don't quite get the pricing schemes myself.

I didn't believe it either until I started paying attention to people who usually know what they are saying and have GM connections. 75-78k is what I'm seeing. Sure they could be wrong but it does make sense when you look at what the c7 z06 really is.
