After the pricing announcement, ZR1 prices are going to forsure TANK. Which will hurt the C6Z06 prices even more.

There are 09-10s in the 60s, 11s around 70k all day. There's even a 2012 on there for $68k!

Well I decided to check. I see 121 ZR1s for sale just on Autotrader alone. 40-45 or so are $65-75k. Not so rare and dropping like rocks.

Smoking deal here....for now...

Not sure if there is ever a good time to buy anything. Especially without a crystal ball Hell I remember today seeing a postcard in the mail for a 1987 Buick GN a long, long, time ago, they where 12K at clearance, buy one, put it on blocks and what a money maker you would have today !

These posts are comical.
If u wait for prices to come down, you'll never buy a car. Most cars always depreciate, including Corvettes.
Buy what u can afford when ur ready, and enjoy.

While I agree, there is an art to it. We all know the big hit comes in the first 1-3 years. My last three cars (including my current ZL1 convertible). I have purchased for about 60% of what the owner paid for them new. Each was very low miles, in perfect shape and I paid no sales tax (don't have to on private party sales in AZ). When I sold the cars after owning them for 1-3 years I sell them for a significantly smaller hit. Ex:

2006 Z06 3 years old with 12k miles. Owner had $86k in it, I paid $43k, owned it 15 months, put 12k miles on it sold it for $40.5k

2009 CTS-V 1 year old 12k miles. Owner had $80K in it, paid $53k, drove it 3 years put 35k miles on sold it for $40k

2013 ZL1 Convertible 1 year old 3100 miles. Owner had $74k in it, just paid $48k.

I could buy any car I want cash, I just know I like to flip my cars every 1-3 years so I know it's not smart to buy new. I actually enjoy the chase and deal process too. Next target is a ZR1 or a used private party C7Z in 2016/2017.

Cheers!

They can't be "everywhere' when they didn't make many.

Totally agree, and that's when I make my move, The C-7 doesn't do much for me because the interior is to tight,

57,520 miles is a pretty good reason to ask only $59.9K for a ZR1...

I bet it's still a solid machine, but I'd definitely offer him less

I'm curious what he'll end up getting for it

Drooling over this thread.

The base C7 ZO6 is priced so right, the poor ZR1 doesn't have a chance. Getting that modern technology on the C7 is great, but a supercar ZR1 for $50-60K next year is going to make a lot of power hungry people very happy

I know one thing: If I had a ZR1, I'd be selling it immediately. It is only going to get harder to sell them over the next couple of years.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one, but I think the value is going down quickly when the new king hits the road (C7 Z06).

The funny thing about all corvettes it seems is that the prices will stay quite stable until the next gen comes out or the newest/fastest "engine/trans" option is released.

Z06 prices are still pretty strong as are ZR1 for now, the new body is nice but not sure that I really like it, I think the round tail lamps should have been retained.

I do like the interior options/color combo's and the engine offerings are incredible, but it will be dealers sitting on trade-ins at high prices and private sellers holding out for big $$$$$ on the ZR1's.

Just now we are seeing some downward movement in price on mower mileage C6Z Z06/ZR1, but still seeing most Z06 in the $45K-$49K and ZR1 still well over $65K for the most part.

I am hoping in about two years to park a ZR1 next to my Z06.......but only time will tell.

I remember one year ago most ppl thought C6Z prices will drop with the new generation Vette, and after one year and almost 40k C7s in the road, I still can see the same price for C6Z than past 3 years. I will buy for sure buy a C6Zr1 when they hit les than 50k, but the thing is when? may be another 4 years

these C7's still need to shake out. I am in the market for C7, but with the concerns of engine problems, that will probably creep into the lt4, maybe the C6 Zr1's won't tank so bad
