WTB: C6 Z06, Z51 or base coupe only. Cash in hand. Look inside for details...
So, Ive sold my 454 and I need a new toy. To all sellers, I have cash in hand, no bank checks, wire transfers, personal checks, trades, ect.... CASH IN HAND.....
I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I will travel to look at cars within a 3-4 hour radius max, otherwise it needs to be one heck of a deal for me to venture farther.
My price range is fairly firm. I went to Carlisle and people seem to think their cars are made out of gold, lets just say not too many cars got sold this past weekend.....Please be realistic. KBB is an assumed value, they dont buy cars, they wouldnt buy your car for what they say its worth....
Here are my ranges and prices I am willing to pay for the cars and mileage. I'm willing to wait for the right buy and yes im looking for a deal. If you need to get rid of your car fast let me know.
I want 6spd and coupes only, no automatic or convertibles please....
Price ranges I'm willing to pay:
06-12 Z06- up to 50kmiles- $33K
06-12 Z06- up to 100k- $24K
Rebuildable title/currently wrecked Z any miles up to $25k max
05-14 Z51- up to 50k miles $22k max
up to 75k miles $16.75k max
Rebuildable title- $14k max
05-14 base- up to 50k- $20k max
up to 75k miles - 15.75k max
Rebuildable title- $14k max
Prices all depend on what you have, options, wheels, add ons, ect...Wide body conversions already done are preferred.
Yes, it may be on the cheap side for some, but in talking with many people this weekend, both buyers and dealers, the C5's and C6's will drop in price significantly over the next year when the new Z comes available and more people are buying C7's and trading in or selling there C5's and C6's.
Please message me with what you have and where you are located and any pics you have.

I've received a few messages saying I'm being unreasonable. I really don't think I am. I am giving more money than a dealership would if you traded it in.
Additionally, a ton of buyers need to get financing for a purchase like this. I have cash in hand. Big difference.
C6's are going down in value and it's the end of the season. I can't pay beginning of 2014 prices prices when I won't get to enjoy it until 2015 and the C7's are out....
Am I being too unrealistic?

Since you asked and just for a point of reference for you.
I have a 12K mile 2012 Z06 that I was just offered $56K on trade for towards a new Viper that they are selling at a huge loss. I think you are over estimating the demise of the C6.
Big difference pricewise in an early, nice, and low mile C6Z and a new one. These cars will hold their price point just fine. Not the same buyer.

I don't think $28-32- for an 06 Z with 30-50k is too unrealistic.

As someone who has been scouring used c6 prices for the last several months in every sales website,id say op is about 3-4k low on his pricing. Maybe in the winter it might be reasonable

i think you are way low...especially to get a Z--I think it will still be a very long time before you see a C6 Z under 30k
they are not going down that much. cant compare a C6 Z to a C7 coupe...still totally different cars.

If not I'm sure there is a buyer out there for you.
I know deals exist out there, especially on regular C6s and even a few on Z's. Anyway you look at it an 06 is going to be a 9 year old car, Z's had problems with heads in the first couple years as well.
Case in point, a fellow vette enthusiast found a 06z in Iowa with 40k miles and bought it for 31k last year. After some haggling.
Think to yourself. If you were asking 25k for your car and a person came to see it and had 22k in cash and was going to walk away, would you sell it?

didnt mean to seem rude or anything....
i only feel that you are low due to the miles restrictions...low miles just ups the price!!
i bet when you prowl ebay, CL and AT there will be a deal pop up...at property tax and christmas i always see people needing cash!

OP you are right the c6 price will go down a bit im sure in a few years once the new c7z comes out and all... you might have to wait for then to get that "good deal"
but then again the deals ARE out there... I got my 08 back in '11 with full bumper to bumper and 23k miles for a wicked good deal ... right place right time.

Thank you to all who have sent messages or posted cars for sale. I am pretty firm on sticking to my price range and variables. Please read my post before posting or sending pm's. Prices have been way off from what I posted I was willing to pay. Once again I thank you for the replies, but please only post or send messages if it's within my limits.

I have to agree with the OP, I'm in the same stage as he is and quite frankly the prices are all over the board.. Some z's going in the mid to high 30's sell rather quickly, others with same year and options going for mid 40's to low 50's.. and the sellers think they are doing someone a favor by dropping the price down $500. yet wonder why the car hasn't moved.
Why would I as a buyer not wait to find one in the mid to upper 30's vs buying someones who obviously overpaid to begin with? Seems quite logical in today's economy. Flame away... I know its coming but bear in mind these are Corvettes and not Ferrari's

Here is the funny thing. I have not made an offer to anyone on this forum yet. I have not gone onto anyone's for sale post and tell them their car is priced way to high and have fun selling it.
However, Ive already been called a low baller, was told to go buy a car I can afford, as well was fed a bunch of BS with no logical explanation as to why your car is worth xyz.
Yet, I have posted many lengthy explanations as to what I think in the thread " Z06 made of gold" to explain my thinking and have been very nice in my comments. A ton of people agree with me and my thinking, but sellers obviously do not.
I just ask that people be mindful that this is what Im willing to pay. If you have a car for sale and you are not willing to accommodate the pricing structures I have above, please dont post or send me a message or send me a PM with your car for sale and its WAY out of my ranges.
I have the cash in hand, not playing around nor wasting time, not in any kind of rush to overpay at the end of the season.

Andy82,
What is your problem? I see you decided to trash another WTB thread. Do you just go around trashing people threads because they are trying to buy a car at a decent price at the end of the year in a down market still? Really shows how classy you are.
As stated, I have not gone onto anyone's thread an said they are being ridiculous with what they are asking, that's just rude, you just click off the page and keep looking. You don't intentionally trash their thread.
Plenty of people look to sell their cars quick. They could want something else, an emergency, divorce, IDK. The whole purpose of putting a thread like this is so that if a potential seller sees this ad, they know who to message quickly instead of trying to post on this or other sites.
