You got me, I' am dealer selling a bad corvette I am trying to dump! I wouldn't sell you my car on pure principal because of your arrogance even if you offered me more than asking. I clearly stated its pending a deposit (Pending the potential owners financing), and if you wanted to call me to discuss the car and get some further info to leave me your number in the mean time and I would be more than happy to talk to you about it. If it falls through you are more than welcome to the VIN and any other info. This is exactly why I do not post on the forums, 100%. Because they are meant to bring enthusiasts together that share a common bond. Instead everyone just tries to fight or say Ive got something better than you, or in your case mack completly false accusations,ETC.

This thread is interesting.

He's trying to say someone is interested or about to get a deposit. So that if someone is interested they quickly pull the trigger. Something is clearly wrong with the car or miles. If he had nothing to hide send the vin to me or a mod. If he won't ever do that then he has something to hide.

Even at that rate he may just photoshop it or start to block out things. I say since I'm just a random person send me the vin I'll run it if not I'll give a mod access to Carfax and have them run it. I have no problem paying for it since I'm shopping for a corvette anyways. Send the vin or chances are this whole thing is a scam.

I note that several of the posters in this thread are in conflict with the rules which prohibit "interference in a sale thread":
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...le-thread.html
I can appreciate that some were suspicious of the Carfax report because of what you believed might be an issue on the accuracy of the odometer reading.
The correct way to address that would have been to be use the report post function to alert moderators to check on the situation.
I have discussed the issue on the car's mileage with the seller, who acknowledges there is a discrepancy caused by an erroneous report by the dealer. The seller says he has verified that through the dealer and corrected information has been submitted to Carfax so that the report can be corrected.
I know from personal experience that Carfax reports on mileage can sometimes be inaccurate because it happened to me several years ago on a car I was trying to sell. In my case, the dealer who submitted the erroneous odometer reading contacted Carfax and the problem was resolved, but it took several weeks and a lot of back-and-forth to accomplish.
I'm closing this sale thread for now and have recommended that the seller re-post the car for sale once he gets a corrected Carfax report. Meanwhile, I'd recommend that you review the rules on interference in a sales thread so we don't have a similar issue when the car is reported.
