Default Buying a 10 GS the week. What do I pay?

Hello I am Steve, brand new to the forum and the Corvette world. Just sold my 69 SS396 chevelle.
I am looking at a 2010 Grand Sport 3LT 6M coupe. 12k miles It has NPP, Nav, chrome wheels. transparent roof, embroidered seats. Torch red/ black int. 100% stock and very clean.

I am in the north east and I understand that values differ around the country. Wha should I pay for this car private sale?

I would use KBB and try and get as close to trade in value.

What are they asking? I have seen a fair amount of GS's in the upper 30's. The one youre mentioning sounds really nice. I would try for 39,000. But I don't think 43,000 would be a bad deal...

I have a mint 2011 GS coupe comparably equipped with only 3500 miles priced in that range.

And you're in the northeast... sounds like the OP should hit you up if they are asking a lot more for this one.

Steve, the prices on C6's are dropping across the board. This includes the GS models.

Here is the thread for very low mile 2010 2LT that recently sold here for $29,900.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-34-999-a.html

Add a few thousand more for the 3LT, but dont get suckered into paying much more. The C6's are VERY overpriced on this forum compared to Autotrader, Ebay, Cars.com, ect.

Good Luck.

I just bought a 2010 with 18k on it and its a 3lt. I paid 36. Shop around, I would not pay more than 38 for one. Like the other guy said the prices on this forum tend to be higher. Good luck with your search.

43 for a 2010 GS is way too much.

So you do not think an immaculate 2011 Grand Sport coupe garage queen with 3500 miles is worth $40-$43K? I disagree. I'd glady pay a little more for a meticulously cared for car with extremely low miles that is a year newer.

The new model is really pushing down on the prices on C6's as many owners jump to the C7 creating a glut of stock.

That may be true to an extent but not everyone who wants to buy a Corvette can afford a new one which seems to be the case with a lot of people who have contacted me about mine. It's not like the C6 Grand Sport is a slouch compared to the C7 Stingray. It's still a badass, strong running, sexy looking car.

To the right person YES, to me no. It all depends on what the buyer wants. I was willing to pay 42,900 for a jet stream blue 4lt GS, that was my first choice but it was so far away and I didn't want to pay for airfare, hotel gas ect. If it was local I would have been all over it. Jetstream blue was my first choice.

Similar situation here. My first choice is jet stream blue 6 speed GS. There just isn't that many of them out there. The car I did find is 250 miles away and is everything I wanted just not my first color choice. I know I can buy the car for 38k or maybe less. Dealers are getting 42-44k for the same car.

Many times you get what you pay for. A few more thousand dollars for a pampered car is well worth the money IMO. Also, while not always true, I feel that many long time forum members do take better care of their vette than the average Joe vette owner.

How much of a premium does the GS carry over the narrow body cars? For example, if a 2010 GS is worth $35k, what is a comparably equipped standard worth?

On the flip side, is a GS worth more/less than a Z06? I realize they are different cars with different audiences but Is a 2010 Z06 worth more or less than a similar 2010 Grand Sport?

Good Luck.

Remember you get what you pay for. I bought my 2011 off the forum and found a seller that had take meticulous care of the car and it showed. You looking for a rat, then they are all over. My 2 cents.
