WTB: C6 Under 25k miles. SERIOUS BUYER $35K Budget.
Hi everyone. Trying to help my dad find a C6 with low miles. He's retiring early and is ready for his dream car. $35K in cash ready to go for the right car. Preferably a one owner car or car with documented care. Color preference:
1 Yellow 2 Navy 3 Red (no silver)
Located in Texas.

You can certainly find one for $35K, but the "low miles" will cost you $$$$$.
Low Miles would be under 10K miles I assume, I hope you can find one for that price but it will be hard.

Nube Question: what would be the closest to a Z06 that may fit in his price range?

Look around, just an FYI, in 2008 the transmission got an upgrade and in 2009 the rear diff and dry sump got upgraded as well.
Hence the reason I wanted a 2009.
Buy the newest Z06 you can afford and the less miles you can find one with.
The wait would be worth it to get a newer year Z06 with the heads already addressed as to a car without the heads addressed, then to spend $35K and then have to poney up $$$$ for the head swap/repair.
Lots of great cars on here and plenty of info, don't jump into a car for that sake of getting one.
Wait until you find what you want, colors, options, etc.

If you can find one with the head issues addressed its worth the extra $$$$.

This^ If your dad wants piece of mind, get one with the heads addressed AND the documentation to back it up.

Good luck in your search. There are many guys on here that dropped a valve due to the valve guides not being addressed on the car. The bill is around 18-20K for motor replacement. Make sure the heads are good!

Yes. I personally won't even consider buying any year unless the heads or addressed or I get a good enough deal to do it myself right away. The cost varies. If you can swap the heads yourself, that would save a lot of labor cost. If not, 3000 is a good starting point. You can go to WCCH's website and look at the cost of their heads...then call them or a local shop and see what they would charge to install. I have no idea what labor would be because I do my own work. Keep in mind if you decide to have the heads ported, you'll have to pay to get the car tuned as well.
