Intercity is one of the best out there. I've used them several times. They are expensive but the treat your car like it's their own. It might be hard to schedule with them now as Barrett Jackson in Az. is coming up and a lot of the collectors of high dollar cars use them exclusively.

Ended up NOT using Reliable, as they were NOT reliable. We tried getting them to confirm (and/or) call back on a quote and they were just totally non-responsive. No phone calls returned and nothing confirmed from a quote they provided. Phones weren't answered, message calls were not returned, etc. This company is really effed-up!

We ended up using a broker that the dealer recommended (Dependable/LA-area) and it worked out fine.

All I can say, is that was much more complicated than I ever expected and I am so glad I don't have to do this again (hopefully).

Thats sucks. Glad it worked out in the end. There are some good brokers out there because they give a damn because it is what puts food on the table. Transporting a car can be a stressful ordeal. A broker is supposed to take that stress away from you. With big name companies all you are is a dollar sign.

A related question to this topic for the guys that have sold / purchased a car and had it shipped. How does one handle the payment for the vehicle? Is a deposit left then car paid for when arrived? Does the shipping company handle that when the car is loaded? Or do people just pay for a car in full and pray it shows up.....lol? Really would like to know how this is done, thanks!

I have seen people get the money wired and once it is wired the seller sends the title overnight to the buyer. I would not trust the carrier in payment or title. Too much stuff gets lost. Document everything to protect yourself.

I'm in Texas, and my C6 was shipping from PA.
I had the seller send me copy of the title along with signed bill of sale before I sent the funds. I sent funds via bank wire transfer.
Having the bill of sale and copy of the title I felt was legal binding enough that if anything went wrong, I had what I needed to pursue if necessary.

Another thing to do may be to have the seller mail you the title before sending 100% of funds. Just another security to have in the event things went south and the vehicle never showed up.

I just would like to update here....
While I contacted both members "antny" and "intercity lines" here and received prompt, courteous responses from both of them, I went with "antny". He was cheaper for the haul I needed.
Communicating with Anthoney was very pleasant. He is a car guy and treated me like a fellow car guy and like a buddy. He was always reachable by email and cell phone. he answered all of my questions promptly, and he made sure the car I bought was picked up and delivered pretty much at the exact times I needed.
Even though he is a broker, you'd never know it. My experience with him couldn't have been smoother or better. ZERO stress. ZERO issues....and the driver contacted me and arrived when he said, and he was very nice and super careful unloading the car.
If you need a car shipped, I'd recommend PM'ing antny.
Thanks again Anthoney!

Ron!

I am glad we did. Weather can be horrible in this business. My first car i moved for a friend was a 911 turbo from Connecticut to Oklahoma in last years blizzard. It was delayed almost two weeks.

Glad I saw this thread, contacting them has been useless and when I finally got a quote it was sky high , they never answered emails or calls for things I had questions on........
Looking to have my ZR shipped from Michigan to Fla so will be checking a few mentioned in this thread that members have used recently

Default Carriers

Several great experiences with Reliable.

Do not use some fly by night company to save a couple hundred bucks.

You get what you pay for!

I agree, do not use uship if you value your vehicle. I ensure the carriers inuse has updated insurance and enough coverage to cover the entire load. Their ratings have to be perfect also.

If something happens you will not be mad at the carrier, you will be mad at me.
