Default Better transmission for twin turbo

I would like to know if a c6 twin turbo is better in automatic or standard transmission?

How many hp could get an automatic transmission?

Search "4L80E" in this area of the forum - you'll get all kinds of great info!

you will get more RWHP on the 6 speed, but you will go faster with the Automatic.

If you are trying to get 800rwhp or less, a stage 5 or 6 trans built by RPM will be sufficent. If you are going for 800+ you will need a 4L80e which involves modifing the frame of the car.

Just make sure you understand what you want to do with the car before you setup the build.

If it is going to be a race car, then make it a race car. If you just want "dyno" numbers and aren't really going to race it, then the 6 speed is fine (with a good clutch and some good internals). But if you are giong to beat on it or race it a good deal, you will need a quality drive train to get it to the ground. Although some people have had some success with the 6 speeds, I expect you will pull them far more often than the properly built automatics.

Stock will NOT be enough for a TT car.

you need more than the clutch... You need someone that can set it up right... different slave and adjustment for big power cars than what stock has.

It can be done, just don't use the standard stuff.

Manuel,
You will need a upgraded transmission (RPM transmission with a 300m 30 spline output preferably). Also an upgraded rear differential, combined with some pfadt transmounts, to help keep shock out of the drivetrain.

If you stay with the standard, you will need a twin disc style clutch set up, spec and exedy make some nice units!

Having a standard is just fine, you just have to buy the right pieces so you only build it once . If you have any questions shoot me an e-mail or a call, I am free for any advice, or tech questions

Good luck

-Brandon
