What the hell did you do to go through 5 motors in 37,000 miles??

Would you warn me away from going twin turbo? Did that cause you major headaches?

It's part of the game with FI. A turbo setup is awesome since you can control power by turning a dial. I started conservative and soon we're pushing stock parts to the limits, rebuilding with stronger parts. Then adding more power and finding the limits again. I just found it funny to see the claim of 50k trouble free miles.

Exactly why I wouldn't go with a turbo setup. I'm friends with Chris on FB, and personally with many of turbo guys in here. They are wrench turning gurus. I live in a high rise in the inner city, banned from working on cars due to staining the garage. Even if I had I garage, I would only suggest a turbo setup if you have fat pockets for a shop, or like Chris and many others here, have the technical expertise to diagnose and fix issues yourself. Blower kits are simple. 750-850rwhp on a simple T trim setup and call it a day. Car will still trap 140-150mph and will be fun. And a belt swap takes 20 minutes.

TT setup is no doubt superior, but not for everybody.

Agreed with Winters. Blower is proven, easy, runs good, and cheap compared to a TT setup that works. TT are superior, but I wouldn't even bother unless it is going for 1200+rwhp,

I'm on my 3rd motor, 3rd trans, 3rd diff. 36k miles. With a blower setup... LOL.. About $60-70k worth.

Ironically, I have no issues at all with the blower/drive, its everything else. If you push them, they are gonna break.

If you dyno queen/internet race them, they last for a good while.

There are those that pose, and those that race, that's what determines how long they last.

Lol at the 50k trouble free miles. Assuming i never ever gets on it, i would still suspect issues. If you really race the car and depends on how competitive you are and type of racing you do you sir will have issues. Even if you build the best of the best, things will break, wear out, defects, give up.

It sucks but this is the truth. Heck people with simple heads/cam setups would uave issues in way less than 50k miles depends on driving habbits and type of racing now imaging a 1000+hp car (i dont even care what type of FI) you will still have problems.

Would love to hear more about this unheard of 50k trouble free miles TT c6 and learn what kit, power, and 1/8,, 1/4,, 1/2 ...etc times

You want to minmize problems? stay under 900whp. This is what i learned with time. Supercharged vettes are easier, cheaper, and pretty easy to work with at that power level as mentioned and probably the best setup to do even if you dont have any mechanical or technical knowledge.

I have a TT z06. making 1200 on 15 lbs. with 6766's. I havent had a strong enough crank to turn it up yet. but I just got a billet crank and upgraded all my valve train so we will max out the turbos as soon as the motor is back in. I do not have a TTIX but I do have a custom kit from KP racing that uses the DKT housings, and 2 A2W intercoolers. no issues with anything, been a running for a year and then i decided to upgrade and get more power.

Time can be irrelevant sometimes. Yes you can have the car running great for a year, but the better question should be how many miles? How many 1/4 runs. What kind of power and times.

I have cars that last year's without changing a thing and cars that get taken apart and go through stuff every 6 months or every year. All depends on the way I drive it, type of racing, power level, and # of runs....

My 1380whp F2 supercharged z06 been running good for what over 3 years?? Didn't touch a single thing after getting new headgaskets about 3 years ago. But I only have about 1000 miles on it and probably a total of 5 1/4 runs not even hard runs and 5 1/2 mile runs with belts breaking halfway and maybe a handful of street races.

Yea it lasted over 3 years without touching a single thing but that amount of racing and miles I get it done in less than a month on my old silver z06.

Still don't believe over 50k miles trouble free 1000+whp TT z06. Or maybe I have been doing it wrong all this time. I don't know. LOL

Sorry I don't mean anything towards you. Just giving an example so the OP can make a better decision and better evaluation of reliability especially when it comes to time as that can really mean nothing.

What about a basic set up. Novi 1500 with meth and headers making about 600rwhp. With that last pretty long before having to start replacing parts ?

Imo stock engine I'd go t trim, built and 800-900 whp ysi, 900-1200 procharger f1x or similar. Over 1200whp custom tt kit

Been there, done that. Made about 691 Rwhp and 738 rwtq. Also hate the feeling of the blower dragging down my RPMs and the strain I notice on the motor below 2,500 RPMs.

Walhan. I thought you parted out your F2 blown Z; the car you bought from FamousRR. Correct me if I am wrong.
