Default Need help on S/C a base C6

Hi,
I am new to this forum and I just bought my first Vette. It's a 2008 Base with LS3 and 3LT package. Also worth mentioning is that it's a targa coupe with see-through top. I must say that I love the torque this has but I used to be a sports bike fanatic and if you can name it I probably did it or at least tried it . Which leads me to my problem...

I am partially impressed by the grunt and partially dissapointed. The reason of which is that I raced a few cars that I thought I had easy and they proved to be more of a challenge than I though. My immediate first reaction was SUPERCHARGE!!!

My problem is that some are telling me that a regular Vette isn't made to take 600+ WHP and that over time I will rattle the car to pieces. I really want the power but I am looking forward to keeping this car for a while. I know that reliability isn't an issue but twisting the frame or rattling the car appart isn't part of my plans.

Anyone here have a base C6 supercharged? Any tuning company build a few cars and can guide me through my build? Anything I should take in consideration for my build?

I was thinking p1sc because 550-600 whp will be more than enough for me. I was also told that the only headers worth the money were american racing headers which should give me 30 whp with a proper chip and dyno tune.

Ok well enough said! I think you guys know where i'm headed with this so any comments will be greatly appreciated and I am looking forward to posting pics, videos and commenting on this forum.

Thanks everyone!

Nick

I bought a 2008 C-6 1lt in sept 2007. I added an A&A kit and 1/7/8's ARH headers loved the whole experience. Had 578 rwhp and 530 rwtq and I retained all my stock parts. So when i decided to upgrade to a Z-06. A few years later. I returned the C-6 back to stock along with the stock tune flashed back to it. Sold It then reused the A&A kit and same headers. On my Z-06 I purchased it made 600/580 fully heat soaked.
which is impressive in itself! Chewing a couple liter bikes conviced me just how fast the beast is! I would get an A&A kit and not look back!

ECS makes a great kit with the Novi 1500 head unit.

My car did 171.5mph last weekend in the Houston heat/humidity in a half mile race with it while most liter bikes were doing 150-160mph, just to give you some perspective of how fast these supercharged vettes can be.

I have the A&A kit and love it.

Pick ECS or A&A, pull the trigger, and have a blast.

Neither will disappoint you.

What this guy said is on the money. I did. 720/643 on a LS2. It's about the most fun you can have with your pants still on.

It's sometimes more fun than you can have with your pants off too

Default S/c?

650/625 here. I have an e-force and love the low-end tq but the heat issues you hear about are real but entirely managable. Custom grind blower cam, ported and polished heads, and headers make my car a blast to drive even when not in boost. It really depends on what you are looking to do with your car, who tunes it, and how you treat it. Mine is my daily driver and that being said I cannot wait to go get into it and take the long route to work and back.

Double props for ECS - not only for what they can/will do for you at the outset, but what they can do for you when and if you want more. Ask me how I know - just today the ECS boys put their magic to test on my car and the dyno we had to use because the power is that high couldn't handle the car. Stay tuned for ECS's report and my soon to come dyno run on rollers that can hopefully handle the power my ECS ride is putting down.
