Default 540 rwhp 518 rwtq - Edelbrock E-Force on bone stock C6 427

Our customer came in with a brand new 60th Anniversary 2013 Corvette 427. The car is bone stock down to the air filter. Maximum boost was 5 psi. The Edelbrock E-Force kit installs very cleanly!

540 rwhp
518 rwtq

It looks like a nice clean install. I would have thought there would have been a higher rwhp gain. My 2013 427 w/o FI dynoed at 454rwhp corrected (484 uncorrected). The only things not stock on mine are the Borla ATAK axle back and an Attack Blue air filter. The E-Force only netted an additional 86rwhp.

My 2006 LS2 is running a Vortech V2 with LG Pro long tubes and puts down 541rwhp with 7PSI boost and an A6 trans.

Would a set of headers on the 427 increase the rwhp by much? I ask because I had considered going with an E-Force on my 427 but that's a lot of coin for 86rwhp. Your torque number is really significant, though.

Keep in mind this is only 3-5 psi and the car is completely stock. Yes, adding headers would pickup quite a bit of power. Yup, tons of low end torque.

Every car will perform differently...just add 150 flywheel hp to whatever you have now.

makes no sense to spend that kind of money and not use the potential power of the blower....

It's like hiring a 10K a night call girl just to talk to her

Words easily spoken by someone who didn't just drop $75k for the car with a motor that is not known to be tolerant of a lot of boost. Maintaining low boost allows the LS7 to live a long life...and probably protect the extended warranty that came with the blower!

Could've done the same by adding a cam for 1/3 the price.

The driveability would have been completely different AND you'd still have to deal with the fragile valvetrain of the LS7

mild baby cam, vararam, headers (Pfadt or LG) fast102 plenum and 3.90 gears. Vette would be an animal without making the motor top heavy...

no, but I dropped 55K on a used '12 gs vert w/2,000 miles on it, then sent it out to ECS for a s/c kit and headers. Dropped 8k and picked up my dyno sheet at the door 594rwhp/593rwtq.
just saying thats all.....

Maybe someday I'll want more but there is so much power right now I'm just smiling and enjoying a really sound well built car.
Thanks again Hinson.

Let us know how it comes out! That's something I've been wanting to do but didn't want to void the warranty.

By the way both Lingenfelter http://www.lingenfelter.com/engine-p...-force-tvs2300 (657 horsepower / 582 ft lbs of torque) & Calloway http://www.callawaycars.com/cars/callaway-c17-corvette/ (652 horsepower) have S.C.'ed the 427 with the exact same Eforce unit , & both came out with over a hundred more H.P. than O.P., and both warranty their packages, so I have doubts about reliability issues of upping the boost. There may be additional components not used in the O.P.'s build but not a 100 plus H.P. worth!

Eforce and other S.C.s are on so many LS7 motors without problems.

Im still loving it. Originally It was my intention to purchase the warranty and they give you up to 30 days to buy it.
After a week of one awesome pull after another it became obvious the system is bullet proof and I did not get the warranty.
The difference is night and day, well worth the money and you wont be disappointing.
Hinson built my system and tuned it. I just spoke with Brian last week about putting together a plan for a bump up in performance. I'm planning on going with long tube headers and pipe back to factory mufflers, a bigger pulley for a few more pounds of boost and a more aggressive tune.
If i'm not mistaken my dyno came in around 660 and I would like to see 700 - 750. That HP / TQ is going to be more than I ever had before and unnecessary but why own a 100k car and not get the full potential out of it? Tq is so addicting, I have spent so many thousands of $$ over the years just to move quicker and it seems its never enough.
But to answer your question, the e-force puts the hammer down and it still scares me somethimes when I let my mind wonder off a rabbit trail and I am on the throttle.

Correction, I was thinking of a twin turbo I sold recently, I came in around 550 with the e-force.
