i have a advance autoparts one from a 6.0 escalade on my vette been working fine for 2 years it was 70 something compared to 200+ for a vette starter for the same dam thing it was plug n play works fine i think the 5.3 if its smaller will work fine aswell almost all starters have the same starting torque bcuz all ls engines have around the same compression

Less gas and less ignition in cranking tune, looks problem solved.
Of course I made hard way and first replaced new starter, better heat shieds and new better ceramic coat to hot side.

Is this starter any good or should I just grab one from oreillys? Will the lingenfelter heat shield fit the truck starter?

It'll work, but the Oreilly unit carries a lifetime warranty
