Default regular cam or blower cam?

I have a new vette on the way. 08 A6 z51. I had an a&a si trim on my previous vette with no cam. I really want a monstrous cam. I love the sound and feel that accompanies one. I know this is achievable with a N/A setup, but what about FI?

Will a custom spec blower cam give me this? Would i even be able to run a regular cam with a blower or do i need a "blower" cam?

I plan on getting headers and cam installed first, along with a few cosmetic mods. It will be a few months before i can put the blower back on.

What do you guys think. I've never had a cam in a car so im kind of uneducated in the matter.

Any cam will give you a nice gain and sound. Now since your going FI you might as well put one that compliments your build. If you want that big nasty na sounding car. You can get who ever to cut you a cam that have a lower lsa or something of that nature.

I see your in br, just go to Futral and they can take care of you start to finish

Yea I have full intentions on going there. I am just worried that a blower cam won't quite give me the lope and sound I'm looking for. I've heard a few on YouTube and they all sound kind of fast.

My little blower cam lopes pretty hard and shakes the whole car at idle. You tuner can also enhance or minimize lope. My cam is a Lunati 224/234 .612/.600 113+3

As Slo-Poc said any cam will help but a blower cam is nice. Great power gains.

I personally love my Texas Speed B Blower cam but any FI spec'd cam will work if you tell them exactly what you're looking for.

Allan can def spec you out a cam that can be choppy as hell and give you what you want. They have a few nasty cars there right now that you could hear. You just don't want that fast or high idle you want that lopy sound.

I'm sure Detoxx will post up him med size blower cam vid. It sounds healthy and run hard pretty much everywhere in the power band.

LG super pro long tubes and Z06 bi mode mufflers with the NPP open in that video. I love the fact that I can open it and it's fairly loud (when I drive by cars at WOT it surprises me) and then I can close it and have no drone at all.

I had a pretty nasty idle in my S197 Mustang at 775 rpm. Definitely sounds nasty at a lower rpm but in my Vette video the idle is just at 900rpm and it's still got some nasty lope to it. I did want to try to get the tuner to drop it down a tad if the oil pressure is still good and if the vacuum is there as well.

I'm stopping by to get some stuff tweaked so maybe I can try to get them to drop it down for a quick video to compare. I do love the fact I can hear the supercharger whistle on and off with the cam lope.

Not many videos I can post so here you go. You can sift through the rest once you get to the link. Just go to Futral and let them work their magic and don't worry about so much.

Looks like the mufflers are on the wrong sides.

I'm aware of that but stagger of the tips looks opposite of how they should be.

May just be the way they are mounted. I know mine fit pretty well before the shop pulled the old motor and did some work with the exhaust. Now it sits kind of crooked and not flush. The axleback portion is welded onto the midpipe so if anything gets slightly moved up by the headers it changes the position in the back a lot.

Just install a big nasty n/a cam that makes you happy. Then throw boost on it whenever you are ready. Just realize you will need a stall to work with a big nasty n/a cam. Since you mentioned new vette is a A6...

When I built Black Bullet it had a mean sounding lope to it and worked well enough with the T-trim to go 144mph in a stalled A6.
Was like a 232/242 on 114LSA, you could go more aggressive to make it lope harder.
