Default Need to lower 60' Foot time!

What's up everyone? Need some questions answered / recommendations... Went to the MIR event a week or so back & ran my GS for the first time, ran a best of 11.28 @ 134 on Nitto Invo's (60 Foot 1.98) Decided to hit up E-Town the following day & ran 11.25 @ 132 W/ a 1.99 60 foot # ... They told me I had to slow it down because of no cage / because my car was shooting out flames? And that I couldn't make anymore full passes until I got a roll bar in the car I thought the rule was changed and were able to go faster but guess not... Anyway my car made @ ECS 700 RWHP 645 RWTQ so I'm looking for a tire / rim set-up to get a far better 60 foot and time... On my 19s I can go to a NT05R but I heard mixed reviews... I wouldn't mind buying new rims but id like to keep a nice clean look and not get two different rims for the rear... Was think of getting an 18 X 12 and going with a 345 35 18 ET Street, any advice would be great... Thanks - Eric

Hoosier or Mickey Thompson drag radials on 17" or 18" rims would def help. I'm actually going to sell my 17"x11" ZR1 rims with Hoosier drag radials that only have 4 passes on them. Here's an old pic http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1580942900-post4.html and some video of them in action on my Z06

It's not the A6 or R6, it's their d.o.t. drag radial

^ As you can see the launch wasnt the greatest... Car has more in it just need a better tire & some seat time, I probably shouldn't have went thru the water box on street tires too! Also I dont know why but I couldn't get the tires to smoke if my life depended on it lol they wouldn't make much, any reason why?

Run a set of C5Z front, C5 wagon front, or Fbody wheels. Run MT 275/40-17's on them. You can also bump up to the 295/45-17's for more sidewall, but they will put you a little further out of the optimum gearing at the traps with your power since they are 1 1/2 feet taller than the 275's.

All on stock driveline minus an RXT clutch.

SI trim and Alky, 600ish hp. 1.55 60ft

402 ECS Novi 1500. 1.46 60ft 9.84@143

Did you throw any codes by uping the sidewall that much? When you do your burnout do you start in 1st or 2nd and what RPM do u try and hold it @ on the foot brake?

No codes. Traction control goes off with no sensors, but I never kept it on anyways. 2nd gear burnouts. 5-6000rpm.

Says video is private... Got another link? What you you think the car should run w/ a better launch... Low 10s? Best trap speed so far was 137... So your saying if I go w/ the 45 sidewall id have to shift into 5th?

Eric . My recommendations are you need more seat time 5 or 6 track passes are not enough. You have a fast car and with more seat time you will go well into the 10s . I have a rental beginning of December . If you want you can come and we will teach you some solid tips to get the car down the track faster . Give me a call or text me

Go with a set of Nitto NTO5R 345-30-19's.....these tires flat out hook and will fit your current wheels so no switching wheels....

I only make 463 rwhp and managed a 1.65 on my mostly stock Z06 on these tires.

My buddy makes 607 rwhp and pulls 1.56 on these with a stock clutch.

If you have a clutch which id imagine you would if your making 700rwhp then you will have no problem going 1.4's on these.

Ever gone 1.4's on a stock non zo6/zr1 driveline? I have. The difference between a 1.56 and a 1.46 is a lot. Saying somebody will have "no problem" doing it with no sidewall in 19's without breaking is a lot without a built driveline in a M6

Yes I just realized the OP has a GS so yes he will probably need a built diff to go along with that clutch and drag radials.
