Default 200 shot of nitrous on stock ls3???

Has anyone here run a 200 shot of nitrous on a stock longblock ls3? or even if it has a cam that's fine, just stock heads, rods, pistons, crank etc. I currently am running a direct port 150 shot and had this bright idea this morning to consider stepping up to a 200 shot. this would possibly keep me from having to do a cam swap since I'm really only trying to get to around 600-650rwhp right now. A cam would be great, but I'm trying to stay on a budget for now. My car is an 08 A6 with z06 exhaust, stock npp mufflers, halltech cai and nitrous outlet direct port kit with standalone fuel system. I'd like to switch over to e85 completely, as I currently run e85 in the standalone anyway. Any thoughts or info anyone is willing to offer? Also, going to a 200 shot, is there anything else I should be concerned about such as drivetrain? Thanks

I'd like to know the same but I have a stock long block LS2. What kinda gains did you see with a 150 on the stock long block? Do you spray it out of the hole?

thanks

My coworker's LS3 Camaro sprays a 200 shot on top of a 231/236 cam on an otherwise stock engine. I tuned it a while ago, and it's still going strong. The same setup was on another guy's LS3 Camaro, and he ran a ton of bottles through that thing up to a 250-shot with no problem.

i spray a 200 on my ls2. i have a stand alone fuel system (c16) and all the "Safety" stuff.

I have not had any problems. I have been spraying it for 3 years every weekend. its been on a 200 for about the last year. only thing done to it is cam (235/242) and exhaust. I am doing heads and intake before tx2k and maybe a 225 or 250.

This right here says don't do it even if others have done it and not melted a piston.

If you can't afford to pop the motor, then be wary of pushing it.

I've yet to get any before and after results at the track yet. been pretty busy with work and lazy on days when i've actually had the chance to make it to the track.

and true, the reason this whole idea popped into my head is for tx2k. trying to get just a little bit more firepower for 2k. and that 'little bit more' is usually what creates new motor builds and such.

on this same subject, are those of you that are running 200 shots running race gas or is anyone using e85, or even a combination of 93 in the car and race gas or e85 in the standalone? I'd prefer to run e85 in both the car and the standalone, but curious about what others have used as far as race gas goes if that's what's safest and being used.

It will be fine. Adjust the timing correctly, use the right plugs, and make sure it has enough fuel.

looks like 200 wouldn't be a problem with a stand alone and the safety equipment then. I was kinda thinking of doing a 2 stage 175 but I may have to go for a 200 to 225. I'm shooting for 9s with stock heads and cam LS2 if I ever put nitrous to it.

I know most will say do one big stage but I don't plan to spray it all every time I do spray. I had nitrous before and rarely used it but when I did it was awesome!

You can use a progressive controller so it doesn't hit all at once.

I had been looking for one of those fjo controllers for a while until nitrous outlet stopped carrying it or couldn't keep them on the shelf for long due to everyone wanting one. I have a nos 2-stage mini progressive controller. I need to set up the progressive controls on it though.

I have used a couple different controllers in the past and found they suck and were the noids out quickly, I set it with no delay instant on and no progression 100% and I could feel the initial hit was week and all the way through the run, I disconnected it right then and ran a great pass never went back. tossed it in my tool box and eventually gave it away, then two staged and then 3 staged

anyone know if c16 is more forgiving than e85? thinking about switching to c16 in my standalone if that would allow me to run more timing than the e85 would allow.

I run 93 in main tank and C16 in the standalone, I have H&C, make 492 rwhp threw an automatic 3800 converter, I run just a 100 shot with tr6 plugs and no timing pulled, I run the full NA tune, the C16 works.
