hp estimates on different boost levels
hey guys. its a bit of a how long is a piece of string thread but tryna get an idea of hp at ea boost level on the same engine combo
engine will be erl 427ci 6 bolt. mid 9s compression. agressive cam, mast 305s, pump fuel n meth injection n ysi blower.
estimated hp at
14psi?
18psi?
spinning the ysi at max rpm?
trying to figure out a few pulleys for street use and race use

Hard to say.
3.0 and stock balancer I made 914rwhp. That was ~15psi
2.75/8" made 1048rwhp, 18.5psi but was dropping up top. That technically is overspinning blower quite a bit. So it depends on what you mean by max RPM. Max rated will probably only be ~18psi assuming everything is flowing good. Figure ~30-35rwhp per lb of boost. So if you make 1000rwhp at 18 then 860-900rwhp at 14. Of course it all goes back to timing and gas too. You could make a lot at 14psi with 18 degrees and a lot less at 18psi and 10 degrees.

Cog? I assume you mean pulley.
Boost is just a measure of restriction. On a 427 with big flow heads/cam you may not even see 20psi spun at max. ON a 376 you may see 25psi. Could be the same airflow/volume of air but different boost because the big motor/heads will flow more. Don't worry too much about boost, it will be whatever it is. Basically you can figure max RPM it will make ~1000rwhp. Spinning it 10-15% over max it will make 1100rwhp if all is good (gas, timing, etc). Go from there. With a 6 speed I doubt you will ever "master" that power level. 14-15psi will be 800+rwhp and should run deep into the 9s. Hopefully you have a relaxed track or plan on putting a full 10 point cage/chute/etc on the car.
