Sub'd for the results of this fan...
Fitment is very good. Had to offset slightly to the driver side to avoid the blower...not even noticeable.

BTW, there is no "new" 12" dual kit with these fans, and to my understanding, there wont be one at all, unless they develop an even smaller fan. Tom already cleared that up a few posts back. The 12" fan has a 13" mounting circle and you will not be able to fit two of them. The only dual kit available is the brush type spals.

Basically, this is as good as you can get. I hope that proves true and it does indeed outperform the dual brush fans. I've never had a dual kit before, but Joe says this single brushless blows like a hurricane, just as much if not more than a brush dual.

The beauty is thats not even the best part. The real adventage will factor in once its put unded load. Just as any brushless motor (power drill etc.), it will blow a brush motor out of yhe water when its put under stress. Torque if you will hahaha.

Actually they pull the same CFM but the MK7 fans draw a lot more amperage. Spent a lot of money to find this out.

That is exactly how these work and the only way at the present time. The fans work in conjunction with the supplied temperature sender. The fans will ramp to the speed required to maintain the temperature in the switch range. If it falls too far behind it will eventually get to full speed draw. These are by far the best fans I have even seen. The spal display unit would suck a cell phone to the core face and hold it there! We will work up final pricing and post the kit online shortly but if anyone wants one now, just call in and ask for John or myself

Actually, I have a MKVIII fan on a Dewitts radiator in my 71', and I have the dual 11" spals on my Dewitts radiator on my C5Z.... All data on paper aside, the Lincoln fan moves a ton more air.... It will suck a piece of paper up to the condenser from a foot and a half away... The spals are not even close to that... Sorry to say..But yes the MKVIII fan does pull a ton of amps... About 30 amps continuous is what my meter showed.... Good relays and a good alternator, no problem.

But I will be interested in this single brushless Spal if it actually performs well in the real world pulling across a thick core... But I'm not beta testing this one, I'm gonna wait until its proven.

Is the temp adjustable? When does it kick on? If it isn't adjustable what is it programmed for? I'm ready to order one once I get enough info. Swapping that on over the dual fans will be an easy afternoon job.

They are non-adjustable but three switch part numbers are available.
140-165 165-185 190-215
That doesn't mean those are the temperatures you will run, it is just the range in which the fan will cycle.

You have to move your oil cooler fittings from your old oil cooler.

Yes you have to use the old fan controller, unless you are going to completely rewire/relay the fans to new wiring.

You have to trim, massage, tweak the condesnor to get it to sit down farther.

If it is the full size dual fans (I dont think there is a short version) then you need to trim them down to size to fit the cut down radiator.

Can I get rid of the rubber or is it absolutely needed? Do I need to transfer the control module from old fan? No directions were included with fan to include.no oil cooler quick disconnects where included which I specifically asked for. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

I suggest you call in 517-548-0600 and talk with John or write him at john@dewitts.com. He can help you through this.

Tom,
So the switches are used with the fan and I assume the first number is initial on and second is 100% speed? Can you send me a price. It is still 110+ here and would love to test one.

So the fan really blows. Night and day. However, I had alternator issues even before this, and it seems it has reached a critical point. We have a HO alt coming, so once that goes in ill be able to give a better review.

Tom, do you know what frequency the PWM input these fans are looking for? I think the C6 fan control module uses 128 Hz. If they are the same could you just hook up the fan to the power connector and PWM wire, and bypass the factory fan control module?

If not, is it possible to run these fans in analog mode and use the factory fan PWM control module to control their speed?

Not really. 2 days before the new HO alternator arrived the far had an unrelated failure. Pretty obvious it was a defective piece from the manufacturer. Currently working with them to get it replaced. We have the alternator ready to go, but now await to get the car running. By the time itw done it will probably not be as hot here anymore...

Ordered 2 of them for a Camaro build. Car is running hot here in 105+ heat so going to run dual 12" brushless spals.

Holy crap these are pricey is all I got to say. 2 fans with what was needed, no shroud, still need to fab that up, was well over $800.

La Cueva High School Class of 99. Raised in Albuquerque. Yep.

Yep, most of us aren't ballers. Just wanted to point out these are not some cheap upgrade. I would bet the single 17" is in the $500 range, and you still have to fab up a way to install it.
