Decided to go flex fuel. I won't be able to run hard on pump gas, but it will help get me home if needed.

I ran e85 before, but didn't have the the option to run pump gas or compensate for swings between e70-e90

Didn't get much done this weekend... had to swap my front leaf spring because my bolts were seized and the car was slammed way too low with the blower and iron block. On the motor side I mocked everything up and checked alignment and fitment, but forgot I didn't have a socket for the balancer bolt and the stores were closed. The flywheel is installed and locked, so I'll drop the motor in after I torque the bolt (feels like I've said that too many times )

I had to use the Edelbrock 8896 water pump to fit the wider 10-rib belt (I have no idea how guys get the ls3/ls7 water pumps to work without massive belt overhang):

For the belt to fit I had to grind down the '8896' casting on the front of the pump:

The coolant port is also in a different spot than the ls3/7 pumps and has a large casting chunk that interferes with the procharger bracket. I had to grind the corner down:

I don't know what I'd do without my laser alignment tool, it took a few shims behind the blower pulley to get it lined up with the crank pulley:

Does that intercooler have less pressure drop than what you had before? If you are running E85 I don't think it's worth spending money on a better intercooler if it's to drop IATs, if it drops less pressure on the other hand, that might be worth it

No issue with stock ls7 water pump on my 10 rib. It is completely on the flat part so not sure why it would cause issues.

How wide is the flat part of your water pump pulley and how wide is your belt?

LS3/LS7 are supposed to be the same, but if your 10-rib fits, there's no way that's possible.

Yes, supposed to be more efficient for moving lots of boost. I'm planning to do a before and after for power, boost and iat.

10 rib belt so however wide a 10 rib. Stock ls7 waterpump setup. It is tight, but it is on the flat part all the way. I'll get pictures when I go home for lunch today.

I would be interested in swapping to the edelbrock pump if it actually does cooler better.

+1

If the belt hangs off the back of the pulley, it WILL cut the belt after a while.... When my pulley started walk forward on the shaft, the belt had about 1 1/2" ribs hanging off the back.. Two good pulls on the street cut the belt right there and ended up ripping about 3 ribs off the belt.

I just put a new GM 04 LS6 water pump on, welded the pulley to the shaft to prevent it from walking off... The belt is EXACTLY flush when the rear of the pulley... A little more flush then I wanted..

I liked the Edelbrock pump because the pullies bolt on....no walking. But when I talked to A&A they recommended staying with the stock GM pump for bracket alignment/fitment.

I saw someone selling an edelbrock pump that had been modified to work with an A&A bracket and it had much more material removed from that top coolant port, so that might be why they advised against it.

My 8-rib tensioner idler is just a little too small to run the 10-rib belt on it, so I had to pick up a new 12-rib/cog tensioner idler from ProCharger (they don't make a 10-rib). I'll be fitting that up tonight to make sure it'll work since it's much wider, almost 3" it looks like.

Forgot to take a picture, but my belt isn't even close to the back of the pulley. It is close to off the front rounded part but it is solid on the pulley.

Where did you get that low profile fitting for the rear of the drivers side rail?

Here are the pics of my 10-rib blower pulley and stock ls3 water pump. I have no idea how the ls7 one is working unless you have massive overhang or the pump is different.

Fore innovations makes a super low profile fitting like that as well cheaper I think. I will tell you on my F-body I had the belt hanging off about 1 whole rib and it never affected anything had @8-10k of miles like that just FYI. but if you got one to work with none hanging off good for you for being a stickler for details. I am too for certain things. There are two different pump ppl are using BTW and they are all calling them LS3/7 pumps. Looks real good Jeff that F1B looks good lol!

Hmm, my pump must be different. Tried to take a picture but hard with everything installed. The silver line to the right of the oil line is where the old 8 rib was, the next one over is where the 10 rib ends.

I don't know how I lucked out living 15 min from ProCharger, but getting help from those guys has been huge since day one when I first had a p1sc.

I knew my 8-rib tensioner pulley would be too narrow, but wasn't sure what the other options were since ProCharger has 8 and 12 rib setups, but nothing in 10-rib.

They gave me a 12-rib pulley to try first, but at 2.3" it was too wide. I went back and they managed to find a wider 8-rib pulley for non-vettes that looks like a perfect fit and gave me 2 different diameter options to help belt fit. They even helped find the correct stand/spacers for the bearing so it would line up with my 10-rib bracket.

Original 8 rib, 2 new non-vette 8 ribs:

You could always add meth injection for when you put regular pump gas in it. Although if it's going to be rare that you use pump gas I probably wouldn't bother.
