What's it take to get into the 8's on D.R.'s?

Forgot to add that I have the ECS stage 1 fuel upgrade and yes I want it to last. Don't look at it as your building MY car just cause I'm halfway there. Plenty of people want to do this as well. To me, when people say they have a 9 or 8 second car and then they take off the wheels and slicks. It's no longer a 8 or 9 second car. I want my car to be equally as fast on the street as it is on the track. I want the same exact setup when im just cruising around town.

My car goes mid 1.3x 60's on the track, on the exact same tires on the street, I do good to keep it in the lane from a 70 mph/2nd gear hit...
Lets be realistic here...
If running 8s was as easy as throwing a bigger blower on it and some 15s, EVERYONE would be doing it...
Look here at CF how many STREET DRIVEN cars are running 8s.... You can count them on both hands. It ain't easy...

Exactly. Friend has a c5z that ran consistent 9.5s@150mph. He has been chasing 8s for 3+ years now and dumped a TON of money to get from 9.5s to 8s, and still isn't there.

Your 8 sec car will still be a high 10-11 sec car on the street, no matter what wheels/tires you have on it
My car goes mid 1.3x 60's on the track, on the exact same tires on the street, I do good to keep it in the lane from a 70 mph/2nd gear hit...

My car already ran 10.53 on nitto invos with 1.89 60'. I'm ordering nt05's and im going to try 9 second pass as the car is now. Then I will tweak and change things from there. I know it isn't easy. If it was that easy it wouldn't be fun.

8s is a WORLD away from 9.50s.
Its hard to get everything you need in the same pass for an 8 sec pass.... Usually you can get the MPH but not the 60'/330'... If you get the good 60'/330', then something affects the pass or mph (bad DA, head wind etc etc).... If neither of those scenarios happen, you probably just broke the diff, tranny or both... Rinse and repeat a bunch of times...Costing you thousands each time it pops...
I went a 9.22@151 on a very soft 1.48 60', popped the diff(broken diff #3) on the next pass with a hard launch.
AlgZ06 went a 9.19@147 on a great launch but crappy +2700' DA, and went thru a couple trannies and diffs to get there...(1.31 60's)
2003Vette (Shawn) went a 9.16@148 in killer -DA air with killer low 1.3x 60'.
AC Man went 9.31@148 with a soft 1.4x 60' in average air....He has been thru a couple trannies and a diff
These are a few of the ones that come to mind that have been close but no cigar......Its hard to get it all in one pass....takes a lot more then just power...especially when trying to do it on sports car suspension.
I know there was a big single turbo black C5 here at CF that went 8.80s way back in the day, Arun ran 8.80s. Most all of the other C5s that went into the 8s were more of a race car setup...(Jay/Doug).
There is one white C6, he posts under "ITSSTOCKC6" and it went a 8.92@151 with a 1.22 60', built by AMS...His and Frans cars are the few C6 street cars I have seen go 8s... Redline Motorsports has a street car in the 8s as well..But its likes 1100rwhp..
Keep at it, keep the check book and credit cards out and swing for the sky.... Maybe we'll all get there this year.

Black single turbo c5 still runs 8s. Race car status with a glide.
1swtride I think went 8s with an ECS glide setup and ~1000rwhp.
Mark C went 8s a long time ago. Now it runs 6s but at one point he did have an 8 second setup. I believe it was a big single turbo.

You should get into the high 9s pretty easy with a 1.50 60'.

that AMS c6 is a beast. But its only an auto HKE ls3 with I think low 900rwhps...forget what blower. Either YSI or Novi2200.
Most of it is in the driver, in my opinion. If you were in a TT Gallardo or Alpha GTR it would be much simpler, but still not easy.

I don't know how fast Kris K went with his C5Z before he went full retard on it but...it was probably 9.00-9.20s I'd guess....
8.90 barrier is a bitch!

I know the 6L80E is a weak sister but isn't the technology catching up to allow these trannies to be beefed and tuned
18k is alot for a tranny upgrade
how about a 4L65E swap with all the goodies? they can go to 1000 HP for a short while
I'd say you will need 1400 hp and to be able to hook it
that's quite a lot to put through a vette drivetrain
