Yeah I started a thread on tech in the racers lounge about it when it first happened. Very crappy situation.

I hope another mag surfaces. The mustang said of the publishing company is doing the same thing.

Damn, that sucks. I've been a subscriber since the late 90's when they tested the first ls1's(c5 and z28). I was wondering why I was getting the chevy mag electronically. Hope someone else takes their place. There's so many great new gen gm vehicles like the ats,cts sport, ss, 5th gen camaro, c7, etc. Be a damn shame if there wasn't a mag dedicated to that demographic.
I get vette mag but there isn't a whole lot of newer gen tech in it.

What happened to it? Paper media is dying. As much as I like to hold something tangible when I'm in the 'library', it is all about electronic publishing on the internet, don't you think?

There are multiple mustang mags, sure would be nice if we could have ONE late gen gm mag.

I agree, it was too Camaro-centric.
Too bad for those who missed their 15 minutes of fame. There's always Vette.

End of the line for GM High Tech Mag
Yep. It went all Camaro and I saw little use to continue my subscription. It was great while it covered Corvettes. I've still got all my back issues.

I didn't mind that they covered Camaros a lot and vettes not as much. I liked all the LS motor based tech and builds whether they be ls1,2,3,6,7,9,LSA.The CNC heads, cam and cold air intake comparisons were a good read. Also the n2o and supercharging articles were cool too. Hopefully someone will fill that late gen gm tech void even if it's digital delivery or web based only.

I stopped my subscription when I sold the Camaro and moved to the Corvette. I have/had a subscription to Camaro Performers. I will buy a 1st gen one of these days. Latest issue I received was Super Chevy, along with notice that Camaro Performers is no more and the remainder of the subscription will be Super Chevy. Looks like the internet is killing the mags. I personally like reading the magazine versus looking at the computer.

There is also another thread going on this forum...

The gist of it is that the company was having financial issues. Source Interlink (the parent company) went through bankruptcy in 2009, separated itself from the media division earlier this year, and is now in the process of liquidating. The new company, The Enthusiast Network, no longer has the distribution side dragging it down. However, they chose to eliminate some of the titles to focus on the "core brands." On the Chevy side that includes Super Chevy, Chevy High Performance, and VETTE.
It was a sad day for all involved, but thankfully (for me) I am still working with those titles. I just covered a ZR1 clutch install in a C6 Z06 (click here), and I have more tech on the way with a C7 supercharger kit and the '58 project. Some of the GMHTP material is being rolled into Super Chevy, however, you can obviously look to VETTE for Corvette-only material.
