It's up and running now. It's got a good street tune in it till we strap it on the dyno. Thanks Mr Nick Kemp from AGP for sorting out the tune. We were able to get a good solid idle even with the big turbo cam. The turbo is a precision gts 76-75 with the billet wheel. It's only making 8 lbs for now. Pretty happy with the power for only 8 lbs. planning to make somewhere around 550-600whp and maybe one day make a couple high boost pulls just to see if the little 4.8 can make 700whp. Right now I need to figure out what I'm doing with the dip stick. It's has been hacked up pretty good and it's puking oil on the down pipe. Might have to pull the entire right side of the kit off to replace the dipstick tube with one that seals.
it has a nice positive lock on the dipstick too which is nice.

the 4.8 motors are surprisingly strong. I bought a batch of them for next to nothing and am in process of building them up for 1k hp with forged internals the thick block walls and small bore make getting a high flowing head a bit of a challenge but making power is NOT a problem
the ls1 tech guys run "truck bombs" all the time and if there is an issue, you swap out a very low cost short block and keep on getting it
now I for one don't have the energy or desire to keep swapping motors on a modern vette (I have a tt C5 ttix) so I'll build mine for the HP level and then some for a bit of security
like to hear what you all are using for rods, pistons and cranks
so far I'm using a stock crank as the "short stroke" forged cranks cost even more than the stock stroke (custom is custom I guess)
so for now I'm going to run a 4.0 stroke and bore out to LS6 3.8 or so bore size
I'm not sure "how big" I should bore on the iron block and still have the strength I need
many advised NOT to go to the full 3.905 which is a shame because I have some nice pistons that size
what do you all think?

Yep everything bolted right up to the 4.8L block. You cant even tell if you look in the engine bay. If I did not mention it you would never notice.
The little 4.8 that could 600whp on only 10-11lbs of boost. Who would have thought. I'm very happy with me almost free shortblock

Drifting
LSX ****** was pushing 750whp I believe out of a 4.8 with a F1 procharger and nitrous. Non intercooled. Eventually popped but it was ragged on hard and pretty often from what it looked like.
