Make them for me and I'll give $20

J/k I know I can make them, but I get easily frustrated when working with simple things like that. Any little mistake and I will to throw it accross the garage and start cussing at it lol

I will too! $20 is worth it to me. I don't have the time to make my own

Sneaky sneaky Pat! Looks like it improves air flow quite a bit! Now to find a friend with a plasma cutter and welder...

You could all ways just trace over then on paper and put it in the mail. Then you just trace then on your material and cut them out.

Ill take a trace.

Me too.

Or if someone else wants to make one I can make a PDF that everyone could use. Or someone can profit from it, either is fine with me.

I'll be starting on this next week after the 1/2 mile race. Not sure if I'll cut the car completely out or notch it like this. I don't mind cutting it out and welding a bar in, but just worried about air bag sensors. Welding 2 little tabs on for the sensors isn't a big deal, but I want to make sure they work.

The side pieces should be easy too. I may do a bottom piece too for better aero at high speed since they half mile races are doing 175-190mph.

Trace the side pieces to make it even easier on the rest of us

Maybe. I'm typically not that nice.

I'll see if my fab shop wants to make a set of 10 or something and sell them.

What a revelation! An intercooler that gets unhindered airflow to the core and side panels to direct air to the radiator.

Somebody should incorporate that into their kits.

Regardless of what "the other guys " say, having whole core exposed to frontal airflow and having panels to direct air to the radiator IS important.

I think the OP should go one step further and put fins around the core to stop the air from rolling over the edge of the intercooler like we do.

Our intercooler does everything he's trying to accomplish.

Pretty sure I saw the front bumper off the car when the frame was being cut.
C6 bumpers take about 15 minutes to take off anyway. C5s are harder.

I know, just kidding with you.

Yeah the fenders/bumper are almost scary easy to get off of the C6's. Never done it on a C5 though.

^^^^ One more reason I love your systems. Very thoughtful indeed. The best value overall.

Great work Patrick! That should make a huge difference at speed.
I did the same thing on my C5 when installing the 4.5" thick core that Dallas Performance made me.

Honestly, I'll probably do a complete redo on the piping/fmic/etc when I do mine. Shop I use has a few hundred FMIC cores laying around so I would be nice and help them clear inventory.

Shop? I got a garage. I am going one step futher. Just relocated the airbag sensors. Just moved them over to outside of the frame rails.

By shop I meant any place to work on a car that not a parking lot. Military dorm life isn't conducive to wrenching.

I think its awesome what Pat did and what Nick is doing. Purely by chance, I ended up with an A&A system, where the intercooler is not blocked by the frame. If I didn't, I would have definitely followed their lead and done this mod. Having half your fins blocked is just crazy to me.

As I have posted elsewhere it took a different route and reused the stock fan shroud to funnel as much air as possible through the rad. I love seeing guys come up with ways to maximize the systems, before moving to something else. That is what its all about !!!
