CBI built F1X C6Z in the 8s with the auto
I wanted to post about my buddy's car because I'm sure he never will.
2006 Z06
444ci ERL LS7
Procharger F1X
ID2000s with plenty of fuel pump
Flex fuel conversion (running E85 mostly now)
4L80 with DSX T42 controller setup and a Wavetrac diff
2009 ECM upgrade
15" rears
That's the quick rundown of everything... The car still has ever possible creature comfort still functioning, and has a transmission controller that actually communicates with the ECM properly. Recently, we upgraded to the 2009 ECM (which is a tough chore to make work correctly) to get around some torque limits and offer up a little better functionality. Everything still works and it starts through the BCM with the 09 ECM like stock.
I tuned the car, and Chad built it. We're both pretty happy with how it did considering it hasn't hit race car status yet. I'm sure the times will drop with some better prep at the track and more boost. The 4-bolt setup just doesn't want to stay clamped past 1200rwhp. If I remember right, he was on about 1100whp for the 8.5 run. Not too shabby for a car that literally gets filled at a public gas station. Really makes me want to put a trans brake in mine to get an 8-second pass too.
Car 45
And here's a vid of the car hitting an oil spot on the track.

Dave congrats to you and of course Chad. I know you did the magic behind the tune and the electronics. Makes me glad I decided to let you guys work on my car. I'll send Chad a text to congratulate him since he doesn't have time to post lol

Dsteck can u pm me a price on the flex fuel conversion and is it really a vast difference from running straight e85 vs 93 n a Good bit of meth....I thought about just the e85 but there are only 2 stations that sells it where I live....I didn't no if I just needed to have a pump gas tune n a tune for some c16 since I know I can get it at the local track. Not hijacking thread by no means just wanted ur input seeing as you are the only one I read talking bout ur conversion kit.

Awesome build! The car was still spinning too.. Once you get it to hook and go high 1.2x 60's like it should, it will run 8.20s...NASTY street car...
Do you guys have some torque management programmed in the trans tune? sounds like the engine drops out/pulls back on shifts... I'm wondering if youre doing it to keep the tranny alive or something.. Probably some more ET hiding there too..
In my opinion, this build is the IDEAL street car...

Dsteck, what bracket/drive system is it using. Still air to water?
