Default Pte 7175 billet .81t4

I was given this turbo for free, I was going to put it on my ls2. After a nice Florida sun shower my ls2 hydro locked. The car is now an ls3 with a spin monster cam. My goals are 600-650, my concern now is that the turbo is going to be too small and cause lots of back pressure and not be able to hit those numbers. I was thinking about making it a rear mount to help with some of the back pressure. Would like to hear some of your thoughts with those who have experience with similar size turbos. I will be doing all the fab work myself.

Danzglass on here actually used this turbo for a rear mount with his first build in a c5. It was on a 5.3l so on a 6.0l it might make a few less hp due to backpressure, but it should still make way over 650 whp and spool up even better than his setup as long as you make up a nice kit.

mine was rear mount so i do think that allowed it to make more power. It will spool stupid fast on a 6.2 as mine was like a light switch on my rear mount 5.3. Probably be able to make those numbers. But you back pressure will be a lot higher and probably wont be able to pull to 6600 like mine did.

Do you have any dyno graphs? If I can make my power goals under 8psi with less than 2.5:1 Bp I'll be happy. The plan is stock cast manifolds with vbands welded on to 2.5", Y them into 2.5" back, then 2.5" ic piping up.

single s476 gansta would be **** on that setup. Plenty for 4 digits when you crank it up.

It's crossed my mind since the t6 is so damn cheap. The t4 version is about double the cost but pretty decent still. I'm sure I won't be happy with the 7175 for long. I literally have everything besides the werx pump so I'm going to fab it up next month and see what happens. I'm sure worst case scenario I can sell it to someone with a smaller motor and do something better.

Yea my boy Zach. Do you know him? Twins in the rear to me makes it so much more of a hassle with piping and placement oil lines. A bigger single will just be easier. For less then 1100whp don't even need more then a nasty 76 or 80mm. Even on ls3. Witb these new Borg warner units from forced inductions.

I follow him on Instagram, I came across that front mount turbo setup he built. If I did twins it would be similar to the vengeance kit, up front by the motor.
