Default Tial Q or Tial Qr ?

Looking for sound clips, or video of these two different BOV's on a c6, preferably a z06.

I do like the BOV sound, and as such was leaning towards the Tial Q (the louder one)....but this sounds terrible :

Is that just awful video quality, or is that representative of the Tial Q?

Anyone have any better quality of either version? Has anyone had both?

Thanks,

jb

sounds about right, mine is the same... it is loud as **** from the front of the car and does sound kinda crappy when just cruising but I deal with it... when you're actually in boost the blow off sound is awesome though

sounds like a q to me... like I said it sounds sweet when under boost like in winters vid (he is in boost in most of the parts you can hear)... when just cruising it sounds like a street sweeper like the first vid you posted... you can also reroute the air back to the air filter which will pretty much eliminate the street sweeper sound and basically turns it into a bypass valve like most stock cars with turbos come equipped with... I haven't really seen any clean setups like that though, a lot of them look like a mess

Q with a #3 spring. It's basically the loudest bov I've heard besides the Big Red. I have the same setup now pushing 27psi on my C5 and its way louder. I'm going to add another to quiet it down.

ok, thanks.

I wonder if going to say a 6# spring would help mitigate the street sweeper sound, and further sharpen the full throttle whoosh.

well you need it to be open at idle and cruise to vent the air being moved by the blower... if you use too heavy of a spring then it won't stay open at idle and/or cruise and the air won't be vented, that can cause the air to surge back into the compressor and blow the seals out... so it serves a purpose it's just kind of annoying at times, I just learned to deal with it

Funny thing is that the same video the OP posted made me send the Q that came with my ECS kit back in Sept to replace it with the QR. I feel like I made the right choice since the QR can still be heard while cruising and people look over like WTF? Lol

How do you like the OBX headers?

I've been thinking about those. Some say they are cheap, but I like cheap, IF it works.

Thanks. I sold the car. It wasn't really anything special. Just a basic sc build.

Loved them. Had them on and off the car probably 5-6 times for clutch swaps and motor swaps. Everybody completented them while being Kooks and ARH header distributors. My wallet liked them too.

Good to hear. I think that is the route I'll go when I finally break down and buy headers. Need to do new clutch/meth first.

Sorry for the thread hijack.

Thanks for the vid!

i would NOT recommend OBX parts, even on a Kia. but to each his own.

ECS and Tial confirmed today that anything outside of a 3# spring is just not recommended on our application for a supercharger.
