this thread needs more burnout.

Second... i'm on dude's side. I've done this a few times and pretty sure that the intercooler only takes out so much. For example, i'm running +20 degree aits over ambient because i haven't' shrouded my intake from the engine bay. I have a silverado 4.8l with a S480. if the inlet is high, it'll be higher in comparison after its been compressed and out out to the intercooler. Even with my vertical 20x8x3 core and all of 4' of pipe, it's still pretty high. i run 10 psi, so the turbo isn't even working at this point nor generating the kind of heat it could.

Air to waters are garbage on street cars. I don't care how big of a heat exchanger you have, once you're soaked, you're screwed.

In reference to the original issue with running piping near an exhaust manifold, I too would crush a pipe to avoid it. I'd rather have a good working setup and have a crushed pipe than have a nice looking setup with higher aits.

just my 2 cents... take it or leave it

To run the pipe or not that is up to you, just wanted to clarify that little bit on the heat being a concern.
😭 this is funny.

How's that Wg doing? I went with 2 MVR'S on each bank. 7 psi springs. Hopefully it holds and no creep.

So I lowered the pump to where its gravity fed. It was fine the first night I drove it but when I got back to the shop yesterday, oil was dripping off of the housing again...
I'm having the same issue. I also have a turbowerx. I just smoked the street out going around the block I'm super pissed. Brand new turbo also.

Of all the good, bad or indifferent things I've heard about oil-less turbos, this is one of the main reasons I opted to go that route. I will never have to say my pump failed or my seal failed on my turbo. I guess that was worth an extra thousand bucks to me

Keep us updated on what happens and when you get that bad boy tuned.

The one thing that stopped me from getting the oil-less is how often they recommend rebuilding them. I started tuning and ran out of pump. Ordered the parts to sump the tank and add a secondary pump. I dislocated my shoulder yesterday so it may be August before I have it done.

How often do they recommend rebuilding them? Do you have to grease them or anything? Figure there has to be some kind of lube that has to be replenished, I could be wrong though.

Depends on the use. Weekend cruiser can get 20k miles. Drag car one season if you're lucky.

Just a little update on the build.

I ran out of pump on 7psi(walbro 450 E85). Im adding a second pump (044) using an ECS sump plate.

I'm running 2 AEM 380lph pumps. Should be good for over 1k you should look into those.
