Default Mantic 9000 or McLeod rxt

Hey guys my build is going a head soon. Going to be laying down roughly 850 rwhp on my 402 with the ecs 2200r. I'm trying to decide on a clutch now to support that hp. I've already got a tick clutch master cylinder and I've heard that doesn't work with the rxt if you use there throw out bearing. What about the mantic 9000 is it compatible with the tick?? Which is the better clutch for my blower setup and what's the prices like. Cheers guys for the help!!!

You'll get a lot of differing opinions but at the end of the day they are both great clutches. The RXT is about $300 less expensive but a little more care should be taken during install.

Mantic 9000 is easily one of the best mods I've ever bought.

They retail for $1638 but ECS may be able to give you a better price. You would have to contact them. Comes with clutch, flywheel, remote bleeder, slave cylinder, throw out bearing, and pilot bearing. I don't know about the Tick stuff since I'm using the stock master and it works fine.

Somebody please 60ft one of these without a built driveline or on 15's before I call Doug and buy one. I want to see what it will do in a street Vette.

It is compatible with the Tick, but it gives it a stiffer pedal. Personally the stock like pedal is one of the things I love about the mantic, but that's personal preference.
We have a special going on now that includes the billet flywheel/clutch assembly, hardware, slave/throw out bearing, pilot bearing, clutch bleeder kit and shipping within the cont US for $1,595.

I have personally cut a 1.42 with a ZR1 trans, 3.42 gears and 28" tires. Not exactly the "60'ing combo", yet it still did well IMHO.

I have the mantic and it is a great clutch. I am running mine with a 7/8" tilton master and its very streetable, though heavier then stock it took 2-3 weeks to get used to but not a huge deal.

I just installed the rxt about 2 weeks ago. I was scared after reading some people having issues, but like the majority of the rxt owners, I love it. You just have to ensure that the instructions are followed.
I don't have experience with the mantic, but the majority of the feedback is positive.

I'm running the tick master and the mantic 9000 with no issues. Holding my 402 and twin turbo set up so far.

Mantic with tick master, 1000 to 1200rwhp for past 16k miles, plenty of beating and daily driving. Zero issues.

See! Mixed reviews. Flip a coin cause they're both good clutches. Three of my buddies have or had RXT and all three loved it.

Monster has some good clutches now, based around the new LT1 pressure plate. I'd at least consider them too.

I had terrible luck with Mantic. My car made 860whp and killed two in less than 1500miles. Our whipple 2.9 LS7 with a Mantic 9000 is so noisy we are removing it after only 900 miles and changing to something else. Maybe a monster setup.

Haven't heard a lot of people say that! Who did you get it/them from?

I have the LT1-S triple, should handle around 1000rwhp, which I'll never have. Email Steve steve@snlperformance.com

I've also heard of failures of some Mantics. I'm leaning towards the DYAD with the new ceramic disk(s). I'm waiting to personally see if 5litereater or Inspector12 has success with a hard slip.

Thanks Doug. But that's a far superior setup than my C5 driveline on a 26-27 inch radial. I've seen Danny flat out dump the clutch time and time again in the Lethal ZR1 at 1000-1300hp and I cringe. Those cars are very strong.

Winters, camaro 5 guy just did a DYAD, only a 550rwhp twin turbo setup but ~1500 miles and ~10 passes his DYAD **** the bed. Not sure if it is new special disc, but just another DYAD crapping out.

If one person has 3 mantic fail, I wouldn't blame the clutch.
